Warren Morris's jersey sold for $5,000 back in 1997. Yes, TAF sold all the game worn, never lost in, jerseys from the players. Opinions on the value of these? Morris, Lanier etc???

Pretty shitty thing to do. Should have been in the hall of fame or given to Morris.

The Warren Morris jersey could probably sell for $1000 to a rich Lsu baseball fan.
$50 for eveybody but Morris

If up for auction now, I bet that jersey would fetch near 10k.

Way more than $50. You can't even buy a replica jersey at the game for $50. I've seen lesser known players jerseys with no significance sell for more on ebay.

If they were 20 years old, had a random name on the back and had been sweated in i bet you could.

Most LSU baseball fans know every starter on that team so the name isn't random and game worn makes it more valuable especially since that game is a national championship.

Not sure about the auction back in 1997 and who acquired what, however I do know that Morris currently owns the jersey and has it on display at the Andonie Museum.

I wonder how Warren feels about the show framing him up as a pitiful athlete made worse by injuries.

The guy was one of the best players in college baseball, starred for team USA and played in the majors.

They did the same thing for the 2000 CWS jerseys, it was a weird system they used.

There was a form at the LSU gift shop and you'd (snail) mail in your high bid to TAF or whatever. Then they'd start at the top and call the highest bidder and give them their choice of whatever was still available. I was a poor college student but said what the hell and sent in a bid of like $40. I got a call and was given a choice of the last 3 jerseys left. It was some walk-on player I guess, I sold it years ago.

Did they? He was described as not a power hitter on a team made of power hitters, and having to come up behind an All-American.

Literally all of this was in the show.

I'll have to rewatch it. Did the show mention the 29-13 game against GA Tech? Warren had a good day in that one.

Was that the triple play game? If Warren was at 2nd base, he must have been involved.
Memory is foggy, may have been a diiferent year, but it was a big deal play that ended a GT rally. That play hasn't gotten as much attention as it deserves.

I don't believe. They did mention things that made him seem more integral than even I remember as a young kid. Like how the team was undefeated in every game he started, or how he went drafted in the 5th round (I wasn't exactly interested in anything beyond LSU at the time).

I think it shed more truth on him as a player than even the folklore version had, at least for me.

That homer put him at .400 BA for the season....he was pretty good.

I thought the show was really good but they did play up the "nerd" part more than needed. WM worked his arse off to get playing time at LSU.
