I was sitting in the end zone watching Steve Spurrier and Florida score three touchdowns against Mizzo in the fourth quarter in the Sugar Bowl. Each time Florida scored they went for two and failed. They lost 20 -18. Near the end of the game it was announced that LSU had beaten Arkansas. That was a beautiful day for LSU fans. The next day I watched the Packers and my childhood idol Jimmy Taylor beat the Browns for the NFL Championship 23-12.

Sorry everyone. I'm an idiot.

Interestingly though, this was LSUs first game ever vs an integrated team.

What happened with Joe Labruzzo? This was a couple of years before I was born but I remember my parents and grandparents talking about this game growing up.It must have been a big deal.

So any old timers recall that season; I was 8 and vaguely recall maybe going to some with my dad and listening WWL of course. Was this similar to our team today since they averaged a whopping 16 points a game? Who was QB, I recall J Labbruzzo running the ball quite a lot.
Also, the 11-10 win over OM, anyone recall the game; I knew D Moreau threw a good 2 point conversion.
I recall the Sugar Bowl, where we were not familiar with "colored" players like Floyd Little I believe? Crazy shite back then!
