Wow, it's been exactly 15 years since my first game in Tiger Stadium. Technically it was a milestone in my life. I was in seventh grade and decided I would attend LSU one day. Until then I wanted to go to Notre Dame.

It was an epic day in many ways. It seems longer ago than 15 years based on my life experiences since then - hell, almost a lifetime ago.

The afternoon was probably the crescendo of our years of tailgating as we quit doing it in about 2001. 1977-2001 were some wild times.

That day was a beautiful afternoon and everyone was in a very good mood and feeling ever hopeful.

..................and the title of this thread just made me feel old.

I was in the student section for that game. It's still the greatest game I've ever attended. We were all so exhausted that it felt like we had played a game. The one thing I remember is at the end of that game we took down the goal posts. One half was taken out of the stadium and down the street, the other half was passed up the stadium and some idiots were gonna toss it over the side until the cops stopped 'em.

..................ironically, that was one of the best offensive lines we've ever had at LSU.

I was 14. Remember it like it was yesterday. God, Kevin Faulk was a G. A good friend of mine still has grass from the field that day sealed in a jar.

Yeah, even though we had squeeked by at Vandy like 7-6 I think and lost the Diesel we were still all upbeat with not really the greatest offense but had just enough with Herb, Kevin Ahbram and co. and mix with that TS Sat. night magic to pull it off!
