Never has a gopher for a football coach gotten so much coverage. This job is usually by hot young college interns - but now it's a big deal

I hate to start a new thread about the obvious question, so here goes:

Who is the special teams coordinator for LSU's football team? Ensminger? Dennis Johnson?

Serious question.

guessing the shadowers will be doing the behind the scenes stuff while various assistants handle it on field

On a Les Miles staff maybe but the game has evolved. Big schools (like us) can afford to pay a quality coach and/or recruiter and make the team better.

Orgeron stated a month or two ago that it will basically be a team effort among various coaches from the staff. I don't like it, but no way it's worse than Peveto.

It is being spread out among several of the current coaches. The shadow special teams coach (April??) will provide the system, do all the analysis, and coach the coaches to implement. O did this at USC successfully.

This does not seem like a good idea.
We'll see.

I think he means the fact that a clown like Ponamsky is Ed's right hand man

Yes and no. An assistant coach will handle one team i.e. punt return, kick return, kickoff, etc. but the former Saints def coordinator who's on the staff (can't remember his name) is basically in charge of everything, and they'll be using his system.

I'm hesitant as well, but O said this is how Carroll handled special teams while he was at USC and it worked out fine. Guess we'll see.

Trying to be optimistic but sounds like potential for a few hiccups (nothing we aren't accustomed to thanks to BDP)
