The mugging on Lafell in the endzone was the worst of all. He couldn't even turn around for the ball he was being held so bad. You think that would raise a red flag.

Sorry guys, not to be Negative, but get ready again next week. What makes anyone think that things are going to be different? We will lose a "close" game again after a very bad call....How can this keep happening???? Even if you are an Auburn fan, think about it, doesn't it seem ironic??? Maybe that is why we were ranked higher than Auburn in all the preseason polls but the same people voted that Auburn would win the West....How much clearer could it be???
Actually, there might be hope for fair treatment by the refs this year. After 2004, there were complaints from LSU fans, but no real uproar and not a lot of national attention. When it happened again in 2006, only MUCH more blatantly, and luckily on the same day as the travesty at Oregon against Oklahoma, it got on the radar. Then, with the Ramsey chop block drawing not so much as a penalty, let alone an ejection, suspension or even a reprimand from anybody, it became a big story. Now, it's in the national consciousness and people are paying attention. Whoever was bold enough to cheat in 2004, then brazen enough to do it even more blatantly in 2006, and then, in 2007, criminal enough to let the Ramsey thing go unpunished, is going to have to think very carefully about stealing another one this year. People are going to be watching for it. In large part, LSU fans' refusal to let this be swept under the rug and forgotten has kept this issue alive.
Of course, maybe Auburn will win this year's game straight up without needing help, in which case it'll die down some. Or maybe, for the third straight trip to Auburn, we'll outplay them and deserve to win, only to have it stolen from us, in which case all hell will break loose and there may even be talk of starting to look into this. In any other conference, that would have started in 2004, or at least 2006, but the SEC is the king of denying corruption in any form, even as it pounds them in the face, so it takes more to force these criminals (or at the very least, abettors of criminals) to act.
But maybe, just maybe, some folks who are damn lucky to have gotten away with as much as they have might realize they should quit while they're ahead.

it was called against Washington State 2 weeks later, than adjusted.
The same penalty has been called numerous times, but never in a situation where the player never crossed the line of scrimmage and didn't touch an opposing player on landing. The rule wasn't changed, or even "adjusted". It remains in effect today, and penalties for violating it continue to be assessed. The NCAA simply issued a directive on its interpretation clarifying that it should not be called in that situation. And it never has been since. Only once was it ever called in those circumstances. At Auburn. Against LSU. Costing us an SEC West title. Go figure.

I have to admit, I think LSU still loses that 2004 Auburn game in OT. That Jimbo offense was just putrid that year.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Prude only in on that play because Webster was hurt a little earlier, and he filled in as "jumper"? Seems I remember that.

Check out Brian Scott's response in the comment section
The Washington/BYU call only made the list cuz it stimulated the whole discussion. It was technically correct but still a chickenshite call. On the other hand, I am from the old school when when you scored a TD, you had 2 options of what to do with the ball (1) put it on the ground or (2) hand it to the official.

about 4 hours ago To all the people who have sent frantic e-mails regarding this article: 1) It was written to fuel the fire, so if you get upset then I win. 2) For all 10 games listed we watched video of every controversial play and came up with the analysis based on what the video evidence showed. Don't attack the messenger. 3) For the all Auburn fans having a meltdown about the homer in the replay booth, the Auburn Athletic Dept. acknowledged that the official was an Auburn grad but since the spineless SEC commish Mike Slive was so quick to jump to Auburn's defense, the issue died there. No investigation was done and no actions were taken against Auburn. Furthermore, I could make a list of top 10 examples of how Auburn cheats in about 5 minutes. Better yet, I could make it the top 100 list if I include every game Tommy Tuberville has ever coached at any school. My advice to Auburn fans would be to let this go and focus on beefing up security for Chas Ramsey next weekend - he'll need it. (disclaimer: this is satire and does not imply in any way that Chas Ramsey's body or life will be in actual danger...from me)

That prick Tubberville is Public Enemy #1 on that shiite, but Slive needs to be mentioned as well. Talk about a nutless wonder. Lesticles should send a package of all the blown, criminal calls to the SEC office next week with a message-"don't let this happen again".

I've been trying so hard to find closure on this issue. This article does not help!

Worst call in memory was Tebow pretending to make a phone call in front of the student section after scoring a TD. Little crybaby.
Second worst call was the one made by Perrilloux during recruiting. HOLLA!
Oh, wait...this isn't about phone calls?
