a pitching staff, preferably with two stoppers and a closer. We have none of the above this year.

A middle infielder who doesn't take a knee every time he tries to field a routine ground ball.

They will probably host a regional so that may be a little excessive.

An entire infield.
Morgan is the only infielder we have playing to LSU standard and the rest of the infielders find ways to make him look bad when he can’t scoop the balls bouncing 7 feet from him

Yap, pitching has been good, especially the bullpen. Definitely need weekend starters but they are leaving wins on the table due to defense and lack of aggression on the bases

Probably need three more conference wins to host. That's looking less and less likely.

How about just find a fielding coach or a coach that knows something about defense. This is ridiculous

Don't you miss the guys like Nola & Mestepey?
Hell Poche would be a Godsend for this team.

That can be said for every infield position, except for Berry's bat.

If we’re including offense the exceptions are Berry’s offense, Doughty’s offense, Tre Morgan’s offense and defense, and even Thompson’s offense is fair.

Starting pitchers ,I would think would be above that

I think we already have the starting pitchers. Among Floyd, Taylor, Dutton, Money and Coleman you will have some good starters. Even Hasty might be one. But it would be nice if we could find a freshmen who can be a weekend starter.

A catcher and SS are the two biggest needs. That would push Thompson to third where he can’t do nearly the damage that he does at SS. Even to play third, he has to be much better throwing to first.

How is everybody's answer not SP?

Because that’s not our biggest need, which is defense.

I think a lot of these answers are what do we need this year instead of next year. This year, one solid, dependable, middle infielder would do us wonders. Having Milazzo back (obviously also Berry) would give us the defensive option at catcher, though I think at times you'd still see McManus spell him. A legit old school starter (or two) would also really have helped us.

For next year, you also have to factor in who we're going to be losing, getting back, who's (presumably) going to develop, etc. Berry's gone, but I think you can get a serviceable 3B out of our returning lineup. The bat will obviously take a dive, but fielding likely would be improved. I think Doughty is a draft eligible Soph too, but unless he really heats up I would think he might be better off sticking around for another year. We should get Milazzo back at Catcher, and past that I don't know that you're necessarily losing any other fielders. Hilliard is gone, and as our only reliable starter he obviously will need to be replaced.

We've got some potential arms that could develop into starters, plus Coleman coming back would be big, but I still think it would be a big priority to try to bring in an Ace. Probably more than that would be another SS, possibly from juco if that highly touted SS doesn't make it to campus. There's still hope for Thompson, but I absolutely don't want to be stuck with him as our only option at short. He could theoretically move over to 2B or 3B if we get a legit SS.

I guess the short answer is Ace or SS, I could go either way if they are legit game changers. A catcher option maybe, but that would probably mean we'd lose one of the ones we have.

Find a new coach. This whole CJJ experiment has fallen flat. There's no other reason for this team's poor execution.

Don’t include Tre Morgan in this.
