Whoa! Why are you messing with the narrative?
- JJ is the villain.
- Les is a clown
- Lee is good character guy, pro-style QB that could have won the game
If you want us to consider other possibilities, get out of here.

Let it go, that was over 3 years ago

I heard it was because of Les Miles
I also saw that it was because of Les Miles
I also saw that it was because of Les Miles

Hey, while we're on the topic of painful, repressed memories you didn't think you'd have recall...
What images does everyone have burned in their brain from this game?
I know the major ones, but I remember a play where JJ loses his cool, rolls out, and eventually runs for no gain. But, in the replay, you can see a receiver running wide open across the field 30yds deep, waving frantically at JJ. When JJ goes down, the receiver jumps up and down in frustration.
I don't even know which receiver it was.

Classic case of coaching scared and undisciplined players off the field.

there were some people saying Lee was barely even eligible academically. . . . Les tried everything he could to get through to the kid, nothing worked
Yet the kid that almost ruined the season by getting tossed in jail, deserved all the playing time he could get
If true, Les is the ultimate dumbass, and cant leave fast enough

there were some people saying Lee was barely even eligible academically, or may not have been for that game.
quote:I have never heard this rumor. Can anyone back it up? Because Les should get hammered if that were true, but I highly doubt it.
He had his family tickets taken away before the game at bama on nov 3rd.
I do have to admit that I think enough time has past to discuss it without butthurt, but I still refer to the basketball coach as cJJ, so there's that.

I will never forget JJ shoveling the ball to the linebacker. I left the bulldog immediately.

You do know it was never proven he did it right? And the accuser had is own questionable character issues.
The BRPD is a joke, and everyone should be appalled that those idiots are the ones getting paid to protect our community.

Those are the games Jordan Jefferson started after Lee was unceremoniously benched.
Let's get something straight, Jefferson came in at the beginning of the 2nd qtr after Lee had thrown an interception. I know a lot of kids today think INTs aren't a big deal, but in a high stakes game against a championship caliber team, you do NOT turn the ball over.
After Jefferson came in, not only did he lead LSU to a win over Alabama, but also over W. Kentucky, 42-9, going 8-14 for 168 yds, 1 TD, NO INTs, and 20 yds rushing.
Then he led LSU to a 52-3 win over Mississippi, going 7-7 for 88 yds, 1 TD and NO INTs. (Lee was 1-1 for 17 yds.)
Jefferson was 18/29 for 208 yds, 1 TD and 1 INT vs Arky.
Jefferson had a horrible game against UGA going 5/13 for 30 yds but no INTs.
So Jefferson had essentially won 5 games in a row, going 44/73, 561 yds, 3 TD, 1 int going into the BCSCG. In those 5 games Jefferson also ran for 137 yds and a TD on 35 carries. Basically 700 yards, 4 tds and 1 int in 5 games.
In other words, the idea that those 5 wins by Jefferson were some sort of indictment against his ability is absurd, as Bama in November, Aky and UGA were all top ten teams - that Jordan Jefferson BEAT.

A shot in the arm is all that team needed to wake up, I believe
No, they need to shoot the other team in the arm, and legs, to have a chance at that point.
I think some folks just don't know how to let shite like this go. Just because it didn't work out with JJ doesn't mean it would've worked out with anyone else on the bench.
As a coaching staff what you DO NOT do is panic and start just changing shite up for the sake of changing shite up.

There you go.
Perfect fit.
For reference, see Florida vs Florida St. Very similar. Change in offense and defense by Florida in second meeting. Same result.

Do you think that facemask against Benji Thibodeaux was bullshite?

I've heard the JJ story from someone else who was there. I've also heard some players were not very happy with it but not from the same source. Who knows though.

This is the first time Miles stubbornness really came to light. Since then we have seen this happen often. Welter, Harris, play calling, utilization of players. Think about it most of what you asked about relates to that stubbornness.
I also think he had too lax control on the player nighttime activities. I said in another thread months ago, his behavior at the rally the night before the game was erratic. Trying to hard to look like he was in control.

Why does Les get the blame for Welter starting?

This proves that the rumor that Lee was ineligible is BS.

I call BS on this too.

Do you really think he was correct to not step in? He is the head coach, he makes decisions, be it poor ones, on other positions, why not LB.
