Jalen Mills was a 3-star corner out of high school and started every game at corner as a freshman, so I guess there is a chance. It’s not like we have a lot of studs at that position.

Yeah, but LSU was in more of a shortage of CBs last season. LSU played a bunch of TR FR in the secondary, will have Johnson back from injury, Alexander will probably be back mid season, etc. I think Bussey would certainly get PT but not start.

Is he even a corner? I thought he was projected as more of a safety.

Bussey's snaps in HS on defense came primarily at safety.

Considering he’s not a corner in HS or college I would say slim

We are recruiting him as a corner with potential to play nickel or some sort of hybrid.

Timpson HS is a 2A school which is almost like 1A in LA. Not saying he can’t play Defense next year but highly unlikely. More than likely he plays some O next year and ST while getting his feet wet with learning DB work.

The possibility is there, but slim. Ideally, him starting a game towards the end of the season could be a good thing, but him starting against USC would probably be bad news. I hope this helps.

Would not be good for the young man or the team to throw him to the wolves from the jump.
They will develop him appropriately without creating any confidence crises, while still challenging him fully.
He would be in a great spot for development at LSU.

I remember when he signed, one of the paid scouts said, “ I don’t know which freshmen will play, but one for sure to get a Red-Shirt, Jalen Mills!”

Mills played at a high school in Tx, the other DB, was rated higher, signed with UTx. That kid barely saw the field, ended up transferring. Mills, has been one to follow. Great player at LSU and the Pros.

The guy has a Super Bowl ring!

”Mills started all 13 games at cornerback his true freshman year at LSU in 2012, recording 57 tackles and two interceptions. As sophomore in 2013, he again started all 13 games, recording 67 tackles, three interceptions, and three sacks. As a junior in 2014, he started 12 games at safety and one at cornerback. He finished the season with 62 tackles and one interception. As a senior in 2015, Mills missed the first six games due to injury. Despite the missed time, he was named a 2015 All-American by CBS Sports.”

He is probably the top athlete and has plenty of film covering different positions. Put him on the field at CB/N.
