With Godchaux leaving does this lock up any D-line commits?

I'm thinking this helps us lock up Wilson, and possibly Mathis. Thoughts?

Not sure how much it helps. We got some good talent last year too.

I am sure Wilson and Mathis have already made up their minds, but it probably doesn't hurt. We've had 2 good DL classes and adding this one would solidify our depth for the next several years.

Nah. If you've paid any attention to LSU the last 2 years, you'd guess he would leave early. Had he come back, then that may have changed up some minds, but him declaring early should have been expected from nearly everybody.

Like with RB Carter who committed to UGA. He decommitted shortly after both Chubb and Michel decided to come back for their last year.

He decommitted because they didn't have an early enrollee spot for him, not because they were coming back.

However, they didn't have a spot because they were coming back. Lol. Basicallyit wasn't depth chart it was no open spot

Sure hope so. Mathis and Wilson probably already had their minds made up.

I think Mathis is built more like Godchaux. Marvin Wilson and Tyler Shelvin are similar in size and builds, both huge and takes up 1 1/2 - 2 gaps.

Is shelvin expected to play at nose and Wilson at the 3-4 d end I'm assuming?

What was the name of the big time D lineman
that didn't make the grades to play this year?
He is a true freshman.

I think it helps a little bit for most guys. It opens up a starting spot in the rotation. Wilson is probably being guaranteed a starting spot anyway.
