The "momma" narrative is out of control. Does family play a part in where recruits sign? Yes. Is "momma" the single most important factor? No, not even close.

The old narrative would have been: "The kid is leaving because he's uncommitted so late. The reason he's waiting because it cuts down on how much he has to hear it from the hometown crowd."

But, that's out the window the past few years - kids will leave home in a heartbeat and commit the summer before to a division rival of the "home school" without batting an eye.

So, I don't know what to think about Willie Gay, out of Starkville, MS, remaining uncommitted this late when he is down to LSU and MSU.

By that logic surely we are getting Devonta Smith, Phidarian Mathis and Todd Harris.

Anything can happen and it depends on the individual, everyone is different. Sometimes the patterns don't fit the norm for everyone
