I know for a fact that one of these knows for sure where they're going. And the other is about 90% sure.

Nah. A&M is setting itself as a program to be reckoned with. You guys definitely have a ton of resources and are putting them to use now.

USC is just a better job than A&M. It's a better job than LSU too but I'd say LSU is a better job than A&M mainly for the built in state talent with no in state competition reason.

If Sumlin is offered the USC job he has to choose between major national coverage, a one of a kind campus no school can compete with which is huge for recruiting, etc at USC OR finish what he started at a lesser job but still a nice one for sure.

I think it would be hard for him to stay.

^ maybe. ill give you that but the tax in california is a big deal! right or wrong i am not worried about Sumlin going to USC. He loves A&M and is building a great foundation here. As much as i hate LSU because they are a threat. I believe in time A&M and BAMA will be fighting for Natty's while LSU has a chance every 2-4 years. Coming from a homer

Well go home then. Enjoy your heisman winner while you have him. Let's see A&M without him. No, you don't have to tell me about your incoming Freshman QB like your Aggie brothers do. We have an extremely talented class coming in also. That part is ignored of course.

That's hilarious "A&M will be fightings for championships".I'm looking forward to watching the debacle once Johnny's gone. We need to make changes but are way ahead of the Aggies minus manziel

LSU is banking on a lot of recruits to commit. You guys are gonna have a great class! A&M has a great class too. I dont think you guys will come away with a clean sweep with all the recruits you think your gonna get. Let me ask you this though. If you had to choose who your HC was, would you pick Miles or Sumlin? What Sumlin would do with LSU should be illegal. He's got charisma, he's young and ill pull out the racist card. He's Black! You guys would already have LF,Speedy, and Willis with the class you already have if he was your coach. This may come off as a distasteful opinion but its 100% true

No offense but Sumlin hasn't done anything yet. Sure the PERCEPTION is that he is a coach on the rise and full of potential but let's see how everything plays out. There have been TONS of coaches who were supposed to be the next great one who fizzled out. The same can be said for many college football programs too so don't come in here and act like A&M has accomplished something in the SEC just yet and act like LSU will be second tier..

And no. If Sumlin was at LSU all of the guys who we are heavy favorites to land wouldn't be committed already. They are enjoying to process regardless and deserve to do so.

I happen to disagree with most of my fellow Tiger fans. I think as long as aTm has competent coach at the helm, aTm will eventually compete for championships. aTm is in a way similar to us. LSU is the only Big boy in Louisiana.(a small talent rich state) aTm is the only team in Texas(a huge talent rich state) with the SEC brand behind them. There's no reason why the Ags shouldn't have top5-10 classes year in and year out. I do believe JFF pulls y'all defense out of a lot of shite, but I also feel that in the next couple of seasons, a solid defense will finally emerge. Y'all last few classes have been getting better and better and I don't see that ending anytime soon. This little LSU/aTm rivalry is going to start heating up really quickly. It's going to end up being one of the meanest rivalries in CFB. My elders have told me about this rivalry being that its origins are before my time. It was once a pretty mean rivalry. I see it becoming that way again soon.

If you lived on the West Coast or had been to USC you would not even bother to ask which coaching job would be better. it would be obvious.

That's fine. That said, Sumlin hasn't done either of those things. Clearly USC is a top coaching gig, but coaching at A&M, the only SEC school in Texas and has deep pockets, isn't the "stepping stone" program most here think it is.

I think it's interesting that so many see this as a foregone conclusion that Sumlin is leaving despite him getting commitments from the type of players that wouldn't even give us visits the past ten years. He must be telling these kids something to overcome these rumors which are getting hammered into the recruits minds right now. Guess we'll see, but I think he stays if it's between us and USC. If it's a solid NFL gig, I'm not nearly as confident.

I don't think he'd leave for SC, but, I bet the NFL is calling in December. He's more attractive than Chip Kelly was, IMO, and the League is reiterating its stance on minorities getting more than a token interview.

its hard to evaluate sumlin because he has a few unusual things in his favor 1) johnny 2) sec entry 3) texas on a down spiral. two of those positives will go away shortly and if texas hires a big time coach, then we will see what sumlin is really made of.
