The only reason(s) I see to have 2 QBs this year...

1. Z Lee does choose pro baseball
2. Ely or Brisset want to commit

I am all about football so I have to admit that bias. My issue is LSU football pays the bills in the athletic department. Think about having your starting QB also being a top pitcher every year on the baseball team. Playing 2 sports increases the likelihood Zach Lee will miss time for injury. I can't remember a major college QB pitching a ton of innings for his college baseball team. I am not talking about the few innings pitched by Chad Jones. Also Chad never had to throw thousand of balls as a QB. I would take 2 QBs because I don't think you can rely to heavily on Zach Lee. Whatever you get in baseball and football is a bonus.

LSU QBs:
Jordan Jefferson, Jr., ****
Jarrett Lee, RS Jr., ****
Zach Lee, 2010 Commit, ****
Stephen Rivers, 2011 Commit, ***

Alabama QBs:
Greg McElroy, RS SR., ***
AJ McCarron, RS Fr., ****
Phillip Simms, 2010 Commit, ****

Florida QBs:
John Brantly, RS Jr., ****
Trey Burton, 2010 Commit, ***
Tyler Murphy, 2010 Commit, **
Jeff Driskel, 2011Commit, ****

Assuming Zach Lee stays we should be fine.

Out of the top 3 SEC programs we have by far the best depth chart.

1. Jefferson is atleast as good as McElroy and probably better. People need to realize they performed comparably while McElroy had an elite offensive line and rushing attack.

2. Brantley has no real experience. We have the third most experienced QB as our back up.

3. Both Bama and UF have guys with very little program experience behind their starter. Bama is actually in the situation we were expecting to be in 2008 with a proven guy starting, a RS Fr as the back up, and a nice new commit at third string. I don't know WTF UF is thinking.

4. Next year we will either have a better depth chart or atleast comparable to the other two(still probably better).

5. In 2012 we would have Zach Lee as a RS So. starting and Stephen Rivers as a RS Fr as the back up. That should be fine with bringing in another recruit or two in 2012.

6. I don't really know any programs who have a real experienced back up to step in if their starter goes down. I would expect any team(including elite programs) to be fricked in that situation. I think a program is extremely lucky to survive it. I don't see why anyone thought we would be any different.

+1,000

That ordeal with the recidivist Perilloux fricked us good for a couple of years -- we're just coming out of it now. And no way Coach Miles would've taken the heat he's been taking if RP wasn't such a damned criminal.
