Why try to lure Trevor Knight, but not Davis Webb?

Webb was a much better QB at Texas Tech over his time there than Knight at OU.

Webb: 5,571 yards, 46 TDs, 22 INTs.

ETA:

Knight: 3,424 yards, 25 TDs, 19 INTs.

Knight threw 19 INTs at OU, and only threw for 3500 yards or so.

It has to do with mutual interest. Knight was open to coming to LSU. Evidently Webb wasn't. Also it's about who fits in our system. A shotgun air raid QB probably isn't the best fit for our team

The fact that it's 2015 and people still don't understand how systems drastically alter stats in the college game blows my mind.

Yes, he threw for a lot of yards, but he also threw it 50 times a game. There's a reason he wasn't starting at a school that is barely mediocre over the last few years. He is not the caliber of QB LSU wants or needs.
