Why is LSU not recruiting Jay Tyler (Herb Tyler's son)

Kid is an athlete and the son of an LSU great. He was on the sideline this past weekend with his father at the LSU-Bama game, on the Bama sideline. My understanding is LSU hasn't even reached out to him, yet Saban has him on the sideline for the biggest game of the year knowing he grew up LSU.

He's a Jr. and he's a little guy.
I'm sure LSU is keeping tabs on him. He is lighting it up at Newman.

He's tiny. Saw him play Friday night. Kid throws a pretty ball and can sling it downfield but he might be 5'5.

No, it's not. I'm not going to reveal sources and get myself cut off, but it came from someone who couldn't possibly be any closer to the situation.

I will second what he has said about LSU not reaching out to Tyler. I know for a fact that they have not reached out to him. Will they eventually...I sure as hell hope so, but it has not happened yet.

He's small as shite, really good athlete though. What position do you guys expect him to play in college?

He could play linebacker in Chief's defense. Perfect size.

I saw Trindon play, and he's no Trindon.

that's how Saban gets his foot inside of LA, by keeping good connections here like showing interest in kids like this at prominent schools even though he knows the kid won't play for him

Herb Tyler couldn't play for LSU right now. He was no better than Jefferson. He was awful his senior year with no Faneca to blow his guy and the linebacker behind him up every play. His boy is a good athlete (not great) and is 5ft 5. Most big schools have at least one player as good or better than him that is bigger.

ummm.... his senior yr was his best statistically. he put up 25 total TDs (18 passing) in 10 games.
