Same reason no one else has. Add in that we want guys that can move their feet and its pretty clear.
I will give you that McMillan is a mystery too but if we can sneak Gibson away from OSU and Auburn then we may be into something. Otherwise our qb choices this year are quite puzzling. No way we shouldn't have done better than McMillan. Kid goes to school with maybe the top wr in the country and still is a lowly 2* with no major offers. Not like he hasn't been scouted. Our name alone would get him scouted. Just don't get it. Rotting for him though. He is a Tiger

With the Scholarship Limits only a certain number can be recruited and you cannot go after everyone. In the old days when you could sign 50+ yes you could sign more and take borderline Recruits. Jerry Stovall was the 52nd Scholarship because he was borderline at the time!

Based on "highlights", I'd take this guy over Shea and Franks. He's a mobile gunslinger who plays just like Brett Favre.

There are 10,000 guys who have no offers. Should we offer them? Even his home state teams haven't offered him. Maybe he's not good enough.

Okay, now that I watched his highlights it's obvious. I didn't see one pass that indicated he had arm strength. There was nothing deeper than 50 yards from his feet, and his sideline throws were soft. Also, I saw about 10 short passes on which his receivers had to make nice adjustment catches.

This guy has neither the requisite arm strength nor accuracy. He's a nice high school QB, though. I wish Rummel would get him.

Because they can't evalute talent.
Look at all the 1 and 2 stars we have...

One damn article and we get like 10 threads about a player who isn't good enough to warrant an offer.

Question should be why hasn't ULM, ULL, or Tech offered, not LSU.

That's a good point. Seems to me he'd fit in well at Tech, ULM, etc.

I appreciate all your comments.

If accuracy is a question for this guy, then how do you compare him with what we saw from our QB last year?

Maybe you are right that he may not be LSU material but what is LSU material? We keep going after mobile QB's who are run happy. That is the biggest issue. We need a pocket QB with some mobility.

I did see this guy stay in the pocket and take the hit and complete a very good pass.

I like the guys who can stand tall, step into and complete the throw with pressure on their face. Mettenberger did that very well.

It will be interesting to see if we have improvement at QB position this year, if not then there is something seriously wrong with the recruitment process.
