Did websites that followed recruiting even really exist when Ed Reed went through? Hell, at the time Brock Berlin was more highly regarded coming out than Eli and even then the websites were sparce.

Yes, he was the biggest recruit since Faulk in many eyes and he spurned us like a little ____ with the help of Yar Yar Football and our favorite Reggie Bush.

Joe McKnight didn't hurt LSU. He was overrated and a prima donna.

In retrospect. At the time it was a major loss.

McKnight was the same class as Ridley...I don't think that really affected us. Ridley did for us basically what McKnight did for USC.

Yes, they did. Just not as thorough as todays sites. I have followed recruiting on the net since '94.

But at the time he was a not just "a" can't miss prospect he was basically "the" consummate can't miss prospect regardless of how he turned out.

I was partially joking, as I wouldn't have know the ranking of Berlin and Eli if I didn't follow it long ago as well. Little too young to follow Ed Reed days though.

Yes, but did it hurt LSU? McKnight was a product of John Curtis' historical rep. He didn't amount to shite in college or the NFL, so I don't call that a huge loss. In fact, I'd call Wallace a bigger loss than McKnight.

our depth at RB and WR made nether Wallace or McKnight a huge loss

im pretty sure we didnt even offer Wallace

the 3 guys i mentioned from OKLA were slow played by LSU and had rather good careers at OU. No one really knows if they truly had offers or not, but 2 were right in our backyard and Harris was at one point coming to LSU i believe, but something happened with Saban.
