Wondering what positions y'all think these guys will play if/when they come to LSU? Some are listed as DE but project to be OLB or ILB.

E. Fowler. (6'2 - 235)
R. Thornton. (6'4 - 223)
C. Roddy. (6'5 - 243)
A. Anthony. (6'3 - 214)
M. Divinity. (6'2 - 215)
R. Smith. (6'3 - 227)
C. Lewis. (6'2 - 195)

I would see if any of them know how to kick a ball out of endzone or punt for 40 yards average

Agreed. I could see Smith playing ILB though.

Is anthony more of a DE than an OLB? I know he has pass rushing skills, but at 214 lbs he's quite the project on the line.

Fowler - Mike backer, stand up rush end in Dime
Thornton - every LB position, mostly strong side
Anthony - weak side DE
Roddy - strong side DE, 4/5 tech
Divinity - Will
Smith - Mike and Sam

That's true. The battle in camp between he and Fowler would be must see TV.

Arden Key was around this weight his senior season before he reported in the offseason at 230 lbs. Anthony is a down lineman, unless we shift to a 3-4.

Anthony will be an end here. He's best as an edge rusher off the weak side. I'd imagine the staff will use him like Key as an end who can occasionally drop into coverage or spy.

What differences do you see in Thornton & Anthony's game that makes 1 an end & 1 a LB? Both look like edge rushers to me & Thonton's slightly bigger.

He's been listed at 214 on sites for over a year, have to understand a lot of those listed heights/weights are from over a year or more ago. Anthony has been recruited as a DE from day 1.

Is Lewis fast enough to play FS? Looks big enough to move to SS. And we have Monroe coming in.

Thornton runs the hurdles, and is freaky fast at them. 16.34 in the 110, at 225 lbs. He looks to have the hips to drop in coverage like a linebacker does. He is quicker at changing directions and getting back to full speed.

Anthony is a little more physical at the point of attack. He sheds blockers well and uses his hands to create separation. Plus he already has a spin move that looks to be quite effective.

Just my 2 cents.

Lewis reminds me of Rickey Jefferson.

I disagree with you there sjmabry. If we sign Rahshaun Smith, and that's still a big if, he's a better fit being an MLB than an OLB.

I really like the looks of both these guys as edge rushers. Anthony finishes off QBs with some serious violence.
