Hopefully Sam Gibson will go the path of Chris Hawkins. He didn't see any playing time til years 4 and 5 at LSU, and then he played pretty well and has gotten himself onto and NFL roster now.

Though some may turn out to be diamonds...certainly Miles/staff have found these elsewhere, none of the Alabama recruits named here were offered by Bama. No recruiting battles were won for their services.

Going and finding the sleepers that noone else knows about still counts for something though. I consider that a recruiting win when our staff evaluates a player better than the other staffs do.

This kid may never play a down for LSU, but I would bet that there are some interesting football discussions around the dinner table.

No doubt. It just hasn't happened yet with an Alabama recruit.

Read the previous posts in the thread. Josh Williford and Kendrick Adams are starters and they are from Alabama.

Yep. I'll shut up on that point. But it would be nice to get someone that the gumps wanted, just to turn the tables.

Yeah I wish we could go steal a Dre Kirkpatrick or Julio Jones or something like that right out of Alabama.

Would be cool. But i guess we'll just have to settle for an undefeated season and kicking their redneck arse 3 times straight.

Yeah I'll take that any day over getting a couple of recruits from Alabama.

That's a shame. I will admit that I don't know too much about recruiting so perhaps it's naive of me to think that if we pursue some highly sought after recruits in Alabama, Saban will be more inclined to stay out of Louisiana.

that's not the way it works. recruiting is a "shotgun" approach at the beginning where just about every highly rated player receives a letter and then the follow ups begin to narrow down who is interested. this process continues until a master board is erected containing targets. a target would be players that continue to be graded highly and are still interested in the school. the fact that a louisiana player signs with bama and an alabama player doestn't with lsu doesn't necessarily mean bama recruits harder in la than we do in alabama. believe me, if a 4 or 5 star player shows interest, we go after them.

LSU is actually closer to Mobile than Alabama and Auburn.

Regarding FSU, the Noles hired former Auburn QB Daymeun Craig away from South Alabama and he's been recruiting hard here.

I missed the guys name on the news, but there was a 4-star guy from Davidson HS who decommitted from FSU tonight, and supposedly had previously had LSU as one of his three finalist.

I don't think I have ever seen you post anything that wasn't over-the-top stupidity.

Congratulations.

This is true but the biggest thing FSU has going for them when recruiting Alabama is former Auburn QB Dameyune Craig as their recruiting coordinator.
