LSU has been in this exact same position several times this century and we've had several newcomers come of age such as Williams, Dorsey, Brockers, etc. I expect to see two guys at least step up big this year as we have an abundance of talent.

According to Chavis this is the most talent at DT since he has been at LSU. If you look at it, you have 2 5* plus some very good other DT.

We are in good shape now but in 2 years all those guys will prob leave at the same time, and if you don't keep up we will stay young is my only complaint

When you can't keep DTs for more than 3 years, you typically run into this problem. It's a nice a problem to have because it means you're an NFL factory. It's natural you're going to have years where you're extremely young when everyone leaves early.

To answer your question: NFL Draft

I'm worried too, but I shouldn't be. Ya see, I want DT's more than any other position. Personally, getting run on is the epitomy of getting beached in football and there's no other position I'd rather have players excel at.

scary to think how good teams like Miss. St. will be on the front line this year. I'm accustomed to it being us, that is looking like maulers in the preseason.

but then again, look at Micheal Brockers. He was a Red-Shirt Freshman and came out of nowhere to anchor our line not long ago. These guys (our current crop) are taking the same exact route. Our coaching staff identified their talent, signed them, red-shirted them, and are now ready to set them loose.

statistically speaking, I'd bet we are slightly better at the position than we were last year. Here's our immediate future outlook imo

may have solid senior campaigns

2015

#42 DT John Washington 6'3" 290lbs west monroe
#20 Darrion Daniels 6'3.5" 290lbs dallas

these three, as you probably know; are all at 100% LSU Tigers according to 247 sports

2016

#2 Edwin Alexander 6'2" 310 St Thomas Hammond LA

#7 Rashard Lawrence 6'4" 300 lbs Neville LA

#15 Glen Logan 6'4" 270 lbs Destrahan LA

LSU is stocked with young DTs. Lacouture, Thomas, Herron, Bain, Gilmore, Valentine, Godchaux, Trey L. That is eight, and only Thomas could conceivably leave, with a good season. We don't need a big DT class for 2015,though one DT would be nice.

Once our current guys make a name for themselves and show their worth, we won't hear any complaints or questions about our defensive tackles. I think it's just the fact of not knowing who we can rely on to be a force that has everyone worried.

LSU has started looking out of state it seems for DL. Just look at our DLine now. There are alot of out of state guys which means LA. hasnt been producing alot of top prospects at the position. The good thing is LSU now has the Nationwide prestidge to get good DLinemen from out of state. The bad news is the home grown talent now has started looking out of state. Double edge sword i guess. They say 2016 is the year of DL in La. I'm hoping alot of these guys stay in-state but not a guarantee anymore.

Well this brings me to all those who thump their chest about LA, now where are the elite DTS? I havent seen any in a couple of cycles. You cant win a championship recruiting LA alone, not enough top caliber players in the trenches every year, not enough high caliber qb. anyone who thinks any coach can come in here sign anyone they want and win is fooling themselves.
