Signed with LSU in the 2011 class and was rated by some as the top CB in Texas for that class. Recently, left LSU and is looking at maybe transferring to TCU among others? What exactly happened? Homesick? Impatient?

Take a look at what took place during spring practices, and combine it with what we have coming in from Texas this fall, and the writing was on the Special Teams Wall -

Collins looks to have run away wit tge 3rd cb spot. No playing time, oos, and the loss of cooper prob all had an impact on his decision.

Got his arse whooped by Russ in the Big Cat drill. Then got his arse chewed out on camera by Chavis.

Certainly not tough, physical play.

Any answer you get on this board is pure speculation.

Seems to be a mix of impatient, not physical, didn't like the new DB coach

He was unhappy with Merkle's direction and emphasis on austerity as a cure-all for the Euro economic problems and had persistent restless leg syndrome.
Then comes Jindal and his charter school/ voucher push and BOOM!, he was gone....
Totally predictable and avoidable, if you looked for the signs.

He and Raymond did not see eye to eye, I know that for a fact.

Support staff member told me the coaches thought he was soft. Challenged him during the spring to get tougher. He felt like Raymond was being mean and singling him out.
Bottom line, Jenkins didn't have the mental toughness to compete at this level.
