Honestly, I don't think we ever went after Garrald that hard. We stayed in touch, but that's about it. Very good HS Player, no doubt.

I know this thread is about G but are the coaches still in contact with Malik McDowell or has that ship sailed? I wish we could pull that dude down south as unlikely as it may be.

Staff likes him as a FB, but he wants to play defense. Ole Miss will let him. Can't really be mad at the guy, OM has used undersized DL pretty well and it's his career.

Kid can ball. I think the staff is making a big mistake here from what I saw in the UA game...

I guess when you're talking about "The Fence", you can't just want certain guys and not others. We wouldn't even be having this discussion if GW had committed.

That's the folly of The Fence. Guys decide the grass is greener on the other side of the Fence and we're left scrambling at the very last minute to get others to not leave.

The irony about McDowell not wanting to primarily play fullback, is that at LSU, the fullback position is way more of "rockstar" quality than at most other schools. Everyone knows who they are. They score TD's. They make TD's happen. When we get around to spending more on recruiting maybe someone could then make a video showing Verne, etc. gushing about the LSU fullback over the years.
