Can you guys fill me in on his recruiting? Read some stuff on 247, but honestly don't remember anything specific on here about him. Saw where he went to Tulane, but will be starting for Nebraska. Going back it looked like he visited and chose Tulane. Did we even offer him?

They are saying he could be a first round pick.

It's that time of year where some players get truly overhyped...

So he isn't very good? Looks like he has size and arm strength from what I read from the Manning Academy. Not sure what you're saying. Have you seen him play?

He was a good player coming out of Jesuit. He was built a lot like Brennan, but wasn't as talented of a thrower at that time. He's gotten bigger and stronger in college and is receiving a lot of hype now.

Thanks. Frankly don't remember him. With a freshman and Sophmore on staff, I guess we didn't offer him?

I don't remember exactly what happened but there was communication between LSU and Lee. I could be wrong but I think we just didn't offer at the end of the day. I personally think he would have been a great QB for us. This board isn't high on him.

He shredded the catholic league, but didn't get too many big school offers.

Went to Tulane, got his arse kicked behind the worst oline in CFB.

Right and then when they hired Fritz, he just wasn't a fit for that offense so he started looking around for transfer options. Visited LSU and Nebraska, but LSU didn't offer so he went up to Lincoln.

Like him a lot, but I don't think there's any way he becomes a 1st round pick. Nebraska fans are generating an absurd amount of hype about him that will be practically impossible to live up to.

I thought they already had their "QB of the future" with O'Brien.

He was miserably bad at Tulane as a 2-year starter there. It's Tulane, but it's also not like they play top notch competition.

This time of year random guys and "NFL Scouts" will throw out some random fairly unknown names they expect in the draft, sometimes they're right, sometimes they're wrong. Lee hasn't really shown anything to be talked about as a potential 1st or 2nd round pick in the draft.

Josh Allen from Wyoming is getting similarly overhyped right now. That guy threw 15 picks and completed just 56% of his passes last season.

Maybe both go in the 1st/2nd round like some are projecting right now, or more likely neither does. Some guys can ride hype all the way to a high draft pick though, seen it happen many times. Christian Hackenberg is a great example. 5-star out of high school, 3 year starter at Penn State, didn't improve 1 bit from freshman to junior season and was mediocre at his very best. Drafted in 2nd round last year by Jets and still cant win the job competing with really crappy other QBs. Josh McCown will be named starter who is a washed up old guy.

His dad, Stag, was a big time QB recruit as well. Wound up flunking out of Missouri and becoming a small time hood/pimp. Ended up killing a man over a gambling debt up around St. Louis.
Tragic really.

As a Jesuit grad, it would be cool to have 3 NFL'ers at the same time. Deion Jones, Foster Moreau (decent chance) and Tanner Lee (decent chance).

Stagger Lee demonstrated much better accuracy in shooting poor Jimmy then Tanner ever showed at Tulane.

I'm convinced that Lee means "thrower of the pick-six" in whatever country Tanner's and Jarret's families come from.

As a Tulane Almunus who watched many of Tanner's games I can say that he was undoubtedly terrible most of his time as a member of the Green Wave. While I know Tulane's OLine wasn't great, I felt Tanner still underwhelmed especially in terms of his decision making and in making his progressions. He too often locked in on his #1 receiver and it usually let to catastrophic results for the team. He does have a great build for an NFL QB and he displayed some amount of arm strength but I find it laughable that many see him as a potential first round pick after his supbar Tulane career, playing against less than Power-5 competition.
