Yes, there's some big names missing. But remember that Billy and Shea both are normally very conservative with their predictions...

QB - Colin Hurley
RB - Caden Durham
WR - Kylan Billiot, Michael Turner, Jelani Watkins, JoJo Stone
TE - Trey’Dez Green
OL - Khayree Lee, Ory Williams, Ethan Calloway, Mitch Hodnett
DL - Dominick McKinley, Ahmad Breaux, De’Myrion Johnson, Melvin Hills
EDGE - Kolaj Cobbins
LB - Xavier Atkins, Davhon Keys, Devin Smith
CB - Wallace Foster, Ju’Juan Johnson, Cai Bates, Ondre Evans
S - Joel Rogers, Dashawn McBryde, Wardell Mack
K - Aeron Burrell

-----------------

Shea vs. Billy Previous Mocks:

QB: Colin Hurley (same as Billy)

RB: Caden Durham (same as Billy)

WR: JoJo Stone, Kylan Billiot, Jelani Watkins, Dre'lon Miller (added Kylan + Dre'lon, dropped Koby Young + Bryant Wesco + Jeremiah McClellan)

TE: Trey'Dez Green, Connor Gilbreath (added Connor, dropped Tayvion)

OL: Khayree Lee, Marcus Mascoll, Weston Davis, Ziron Brown, Ory Williams (added Brown, dropped Mitch Hodnett)

DL: Ahmad Breaux, De'Myrion Johnson, Dominick McKinley, Melvin Hills (added Johnson + Hills, dropped Marcus Downs + Carlon Jones)

EDGE: Colin Simmons, Christopher Jackson (added Simmons, moved Kolaj Cobbins to LB)

LB: Xavier Atkins, Dahvon Keys, Kolaj Cobbins, Tylen Singleton (moved Cobbins to LB, dropped Devin Smith)

CB: Zion Ferguson, Wallace Foster, Wardell Mack, Ondre Evans, Cai Bates (added Evans, dropped PJ Woodland, moved Ju'Juan Johnson to ATH)

ATH: Ju'Juan Johnson (moved from CB)

Based on the last 5 years, that would put LSU right at the #5 mark overall. If they can pick up a few extras they can maybe hit that top 3 mark.

I would love this class. I'm still expecting 1 more decommitment it never fails late in process and maybe 1 shocker we wasn't expecting to get.

Yup no doubt. It's going to change as senior evals happen too - still very early in the process. But I expect guys like Hurley and Khayree to rise pretty significantly, so it'll only look better as it goes along.

Wouldn't be mad at all with that class. As always, thanks for the work you do. So refreshing having someone that puts in the work without having someone bitch about your sources or claiming they are an insider. You do a great job.

That puts us at three qb for 2024.

Y’all okay with that? Or do you feel better with the transfer portal to add a serviceable 4th?

Wouldn't shock me to see us bring in a young guy from the portal next off-season. Nuss would obviously be the guy but I'm sure they would feel better having another guy, particularly one that has played at the college level.

I'm not sure we hold onto Xavier Atkins, he seems like a flip candidate, aggy pressing him hard and they've got no LB's in the their room

I'm all for the Louisiana kids but can we spread our wings a little more?

Outside of McKinley that list of DL look desperately Louisiana and I doubt Breaux, Johnson, and Hills will keep up the Bama OL coach.

And the OL, I really like Davis and Mascoll might develop but the rest are major project.

I'm willing to bet you don't know shite about any of these guys other than their ranking next to their name. Go back to the rant.

I wonder what’s changed with Melvin Hills lately? Watched Shea and Billy’s DL haul video and they didn’t mention him once throughout the 30 mins. Found it weird then but hopefully LSU can land him.

I'm sure they will evaluate the QB situation in spring of 2024 and if we need to add a qb they will via portal. I mean Nuss will be the starter adding a starting quality QB via portal to be 2nd will be hard.

The offensive line will be so dominant in the years to come if we can get these guys. We will wear down every team we play.

I actually agree even though I am knowledgeable of the fact that Shea is being ultraconservative with that group because of so many unknowns. It would be a "blah" group on the surface outside of McKinley. Simmons at edge makes it flashier and would appease but Breaux, Johnson and Hills would be a disappointment if that's how it plays out. No knock on the kids but we need to do better. I think we will as it plays out.

Long way to go.

Current team starter situation at the end of fall camp, fall high school season and college season, portal entries, etc. will weigh heavy....i expect 30% to decommit but also get more kids.

I agree that some of those players are tygee Hill level guys.

They would have to land another elite player on the line to make up for it.
