They do 32 5 stars and hes ranked 33.. I know that doesnt mean much as for as his career or any of that. But damn that kid deserves to be able to call himself a 5 star recruit. To be one spot away from that is brutal.

Do they limit the amount of 5 stars? If so, why?

Yes because the way they measure how well they rated kids is where they get drafted. 32 NFL teams, 32 1st round draft picks, hence 32 5-stars.

I'm not saying I agree with that, but thats what all the sites use to measure how well they rated a high school prospect.

There are stats somewhere that track the NFL success rates of 5, 4, 3 stars. The 5 stars do have the highest success rate, but there are still plenty of busts.

INCOMING Oprah W memes:
You get 5 stars, everyone gets 5 stars.

If there were 100 5 star players it would lose it's value.

You have to admit being literally the first guy outside of the top 32 is a damn bummer.

These are composite rankings though. Espn has him as the 6th best TE in the class, it’s time for them to either exclude them from their composite or give them a lesser value. Rivals is headed in that direction too.

Does each position get X # of 5 stars or is it just the best 32 players get it. So if it’s a loaded DB class can you have 10/32 5 stars be from the same position?

No doubt, but capping it at 32 because of the number of NFL teams is an unnecessary stricture. If the player is a five-star talent by the recruiting service's measurable criteria, then he should be a five-star.

It’s not a certain number per position. It’s the 32 that project as first rounders. Just like in the draft, you’ll see it weighted towards those impact positions (QB, DT, OT, etc)

I don't agree with the way they do it but I also am one of the belief that most years aren't really comprised of 32 of them. I generally believe most classes have 20-25 of them. Some years less, some more. Big scheme, I thi k if a kid is a 5*, rank the as on. An arbitrary limit devalues them imo.

Dude is going to be everything Arik Gilbert was supposed to be.

Definitely a 5 star type of player.

The field is a lot more crowded for 6’7” basketball players than it is for 6’7” tight ends that can catch.

He's trying to get eligible to play the end of his senior year of HS.

No idea if he wants to play at LSU.

Rating like that makes no sense. Every year QB, OT, Edge, and WR are taken most in the first round. It depends on a teams needs. Crazy.
