JOB to the NBA is not that far of a stretch
It kind of is. He would need a 1st team All-SEC season to warrant leaving early. He is certainly talented, but has a lot to prove. He was a "HUGE" get for Trent Johnson, but that has to be taken with a grain of salt. He was not a top 25 recruit by most services, so we need to temper our expectations. It was just odd for Johnson to get a top 50 guy, so JOB was seen as the next Stromile Swift by a lot of eager fans. We have since learned that he had some serious work to do.
That said, he will almost certainly get better coaching in the next 2 months than he did in 2 years with Johnson's staff.
This was his write-up on scout:
O'Bryant, a LSU signee, moves very well for a guy his size. At 6-foot-9, 245-pounds, O'Bryant seems to keep getting bigger, so he'll have to get in shape once on campus. With that said, he has a nice set of hands, good touch around the basket and is a guy that likes to face up and attack the basket. O'Bryant still needs to develop some go-to moves inside, but he should provide instant impact inside because of his size, athleticism and mobility.
Two years of TJ's staff didn't seem to help in either area. He is apparently in better shape this offseason, though, so we'll see.
