I am new to posting on the board, so forgive me if I have bad topic names or I am not up to par on posting etiquette. With the splash hire of Tommie Robinson, do we think this has a immediate impact in the recruitment of kids he is already pursuing, T.J Pledger, #2 APB and 5 star from IMG is high on the Trojans and he was his lead recruiter, wanted to get thoughts on that.

Should also mention that he was the #2 rated recruiter in the country according to 247

I would expect he will have to develop his recruiting relationships in the South. He may pull an occasional Los Angeles kid, but I think expecting us to suddenly have a SoCal pipeline is a bit of wishful thinking. Where would you rather spend your college days? Los Angeles or Baton Rouge? That's a tough sell. I sure hope I am wrong.

And he's from Alabama.

He WAS the southern recruiting guy at USC. Well him and Tee Martin.

Wondering what is your expert opinion on the other "SPLASH" hire Mickey Joseph?

I'd rather spend my days in Baton Rouge. Los Angeles is a dump.

I did not label the Mickey Joseph hire as a "splash". All things considered, I don't know much about him at all but we had a need to patch up New Orleans ties and he seems to fit the bill with that need. Hopefully he works out, I am optimistic about it

Geography aside, Texas shares some of the old south traits.

Half our team is from Texas. With the amount of kids going out of state, we need to have strong ties to out of state areas like we've developed in Houston to pick up the slack of the current trend of in-state kids looking elsewhere. When that ship gets righted, we can have Texas be the backup again, but right now we need those kids. And honestly it shouldn't be that bad of an omen if we recruit other states more from now on, just means we have a better national brand. Maybe the local kids don't see the NFL products, but the out of state kids certainly do.

I used to fly through and stay at LAX and I could not wait to get out of there because I just knew they would have an Earthquake while I was there. I could see me getting trapped in a high rise hotel. I could not live in LA all the time. I guess you can bring up Hurricanes but you know a Hurricane is coming and can prepare!!

I don't know if Robinson was recruiting DE Thibodaux out of Cali. #1 rated player so far in the country. Should go to LSU if for anything his name.

Don't bother answering the douchebags here with logic.
They are either brain dead or other teams fans.
Welcome to the Recruiting Board.
