Assuming we lose Martin and Mickey, we could end up picking up Simmons, Blakeney, Lyle, and Victor--2 5 stars, 2 4 stars--and still have room for a depth player like Chad Lott or Melvin Frazier.

I doubt Frazier is a take. He's a good player, but I'm not sure how he'd fit into our line-ups.

Would Victor be able to play next year? I keep seeing his name included with Lyle, but I would think he has to sit out next season

He'd be eligible after fall classes.

He would be eligible for the spring (now) if he would enroll in the spring.. Think he has until the 14th

I don't completely get the love for Craig. If he can't contribute to another top 10 team, why would be a star on our top 10 team. He hasn't done anything in college that makes me think he would be great here. Could he be body/ filler in the post? Yes. A slight upgrade to our current back ups? Yes.

I just don't see him as a difference maker.

We don't need a star at PF... We need a good defender. We will have an absolutely beastly perimeter, but he fits exactly what we need... It really isn't a hard concept.

We do not have a top 10 team. He would easily get 15-20 min/gm on this squad and be a major contributor next season with only Simmons being better down low.

Do I need to count all the posts about final four with Simmon, Blakeny, Lyle, etc? To make the final four you usually have to better than 64 other teams in the tourney.

To SoS: everyone is excited about a transfer who can't contribute at his current team. What has he done at Zona that makes you think he is a great defender? Please don't respond "I watched his high school film".

I said in the post he's a role player, a filler, a body. I'm not getting excited about player that can't contribute where he is currently enrolled.

Maybe I have realistic expectations which are not allowed.

You don't understand that they're making comments about the capability that the talent on the team could provide vs. making a prediction.

Victor is only riding the bench because the guys ahead are 1st rd NBA talent. As I said before, he would start for this team.

To make the final four, you don't have to be better than 64 teams, just 4 or 5 in your bracket.

GTFO of my thread. Victor would be a key contributor if he was on our team right now. He'd be the first big man off the bench and let us be much more versatile.

Come on down Craig Victor.

It appears he will be making a transfer decision today and it's between LSU and Okie Lite.

I don't know if he would make the team better or more versatile, but he almost certainly would be the first post player off the bench. Hell, he may would start. It's clear the staff has no faith in Robinson and Bridgewater, at 6'4", is a big liability in SEC play.

I still think Mickey is gone after this season regardless of how SEC play goes. That leaves a big void at the 4 that someone has to fill.

Arizona transfer Craig Victor is headed to LSU, his AAU coach tells ESPN.

Our lineup can be a lot more versatile next year now with Victor coming in. I was getting very scared at the thought our only big men next year outside of Simmons might have been Robinson, Malone, Epps and Bridgewater...and I would hesitate to call Bridgewater a big man, he's going to be useless in conference play going up against legitimate big men that are 6'7-6'9.

I think Victor and Simmons start at the 2 big man spots and get 30-35 minutes a game then we go 3 guards with a rotation of guards between Quarterman, Blakeney, Lyle, Hornsby, Gray and Patterson. I really want to see Gray improve, but if not, Patterson looks like he could be good enough to run with the 1's next season. At any rate, I think all 6 of those guards get at least 20 minutes a game next season sans maybe 1 or 2 getting 12-15 minutes a game.

I'm not sure if there are any super secret plans, but if we could add just 1 even mediocre big man to that, that's Johnny's best team so far easily. I wonder if a JUCO big will pop up in a month or two. We just really need someone to rebound and play D with all that other scoring we'll have...we just don't get that right now with any out of Malone, Bridgewater, Robinson or Epps.

I have a feeling one of these players (or two) may lose their scholarship after this season.
