You should have asked his mom.

From my recollection, there was some interest early, he may have even been an early commit, don't remember, but there was apparently some attitude issues at UHigh and the staff backed off. He obviously panned out at Bama, but he's had a few issues there as well. I think it was 2 years ago he briefly left the team.

He played for Glen Oaks, then "someone" gave him a ride to U High where he played throughout high school. We wanted him, but he chose Bama. Imo he wouldn't have been very successful at LSU because he was passive and lazy. Saban lit a fire under his arse and almost got rid of him. Playing for lsu has its advantages, but we don't waste alot of time babying guys that have potential. Tim, along with Eddie Lacy, are examples of how Saban actually is a good coach for a few players who need someone riding their arse for 4 years!

She was telling me about her flooded house, would have been a weird question. She just said her son plays for bama amd hasn't been able to help.

We recruiting guys like him this year... Guys like Chaisson, and C Allen except maybe with better attitudes. I think they are perfect OLB in our new scheme. An edge rusher but can also create havoc in the passing lanes. We need these types of guys in this defense. We will get them. Once they start showing out in this system we will start getting the big dogs lined up to come play for our ferocious new D. GT

I think this was part of it. I also think the staff at that point in time was lax and chief wouldn't recruit.

Tim was a player we should have taken and pressed from day 1. LSU backed off for whatever reason, but we really shouldn't have.

She will probably be getting a big upgrade in a few months.

Chief didn't think he could play LB and Brick didn't think he could get big enough for DE. Williams tried to commit to LSU but was turned down. The next weekend he took a visit to Bama and committed to them.

Our new staff would take him in a heart beat. Goes to show you how much talent you can recruit with the 3/4 scheme. It's just much more versatile and you can recruit so many more body types and weights. I like the switch, you can be a 4/3 or 3/4 or 5/2 in this system with the right guys. Then we can put 6 DBs on the field on 3rd and long if they wanted. Let's just hope Aranda stays long enough to showcase it and build the depth we need to continue with a new coach if need be. GT oops just noticed supposed to be 52 not 53 lol anyway it's more versatile. GT

The only truth in this entire thread. The coaches had massive character concerns that were warranted.

His Bama career isn't over yet, but he doesn't even average half a tackle per game.

Nah. Everything I posted is true.

The character concerns were rumors that were spread with no basis.

I'm still a wait and see on how good Williams is as an every down player, but as a pass rush specialist, he can make a lot of money if he has a dominant DL. I won't say he would have been wasted at LSU, but I doubt he would have had the numbers he had last year, because despite our improvement on DL with first year Ed O, we didn't hold a candle to Alabama's DL.

I believe we have a much better player in Key and we stole him from Georgia, so it all evens out.

The info I'm getting is coming from his HS coach, but I'm sure all the rumors on TD are superior info, huh?!?!

He never had much interest in LSU
He was not going to qualify but Bama gets involved and he does
He was in the doghouse at Bama for awhile, good for him to get his act together and he should do well in the NFL!

Chief is a lazy arse recruiter just like he is as a DC in the last 5 minutes of the close games when he needs a stop.

Lsu Backed off, opening the door for Bama. Some say it was attitude, some say it was laziness from our staff. Im sure its somewhere in the middle. He needed a fire to be lit under him and going to Bama provided that after a few years. Dont think the staff on hand here would have been able to get out of him what Bama has done so far
