Trying to appease the masses.

So we landed 12 of the top 13 LA players. Only lost Reed.

Aren't the early returns on Ford lending credence to the Scike view?

the kid redshirted, and the only person still perpetrating the rumors that he isn't ready is Scarbs, so no, nothing as of yet lends credence to his views.

most of the reports about ford said he wasn't acclimated to the intensity of practice. not that uncommon for guys who know they are being redshirted to kind of coast through that first year. would be very surprised if this tune doesn't change when spring ball roles around with something to play for.

Lynx

You mind ranking....at least your top ten? This is NOT a smart-assed question; you're one of the few on here that seem like they know how to evaluate. Also, what's your thoughts on JC Copeland?

I think you have a couple tears of recruits.

The top 6 from LA in any order are:

Eric Reed
Trovon Reed
Jordan Allen
Tyrann Mathieu
Ronnie Vinson
Tharold Simon

After that, you have another tier to fill out the top 10:

Alfred Blue
James Wright
Nick Jacobs
Jarrett Fobbs

There really isn't a "clear cut #1" in LA for 2010. I think Mike has Vinson way to low at #10. Blue too high at #3. Mathieu a little high at #1...I'd probably have him at 3-5. Fobbs a couple spots too high, Armand Williams a little low.

Does that give you a better picture?

So, Auburn didn't steal the number one recruit in Louisiana? That's great news!

I hope so. I thought this kid would be awesome. I heard that he was outclassed. Which means our RBs are Murphy and Ridley with maybe a look at Ware. Not bad, but not out of this world either.

i agree with lynx cat with the top 10. there are some guys who have been considered top 10 all year. kind of enjoyed seeing a much different list. i would certainly have blue in the top 10, but i've seen this kid through his progression. he would have been top 10 all year for me. i think if that was the case, it wouldn't be so strange. top rb in a state that spits out great backs every year. blue's rankings have a lot to do with his performance at the LSU summer camp. that camp influenced the coaches that ware and blue were the guys they wanted at rb. they got them. reed def. got hosed on this list. i still believe he's the best athlete in the state. mathieu #1 is nice to see. he's a great prospect for cb.
