...Wade is getting Elbert a medical hardship.

Needless to say, it's for the best.

We need a big for the upcoming season, not to sit out a year. Either or, its ok i guess.

We returned our only 2 relevant bigs from last year and added 2 more. What else do you want? He's not going to rotate 5 bigs anyway

Built a pretty solid rotation, imo

It doesn't help this season, but it gives Wade a jump on building the 18-19 frontcourt.

At this point what big do you suggest that can actually play this year? Not like the grad transfer market is still lit up with bigs that can play next season at this point, nor any real incoming freshman either in late June.

Even more important than having a big for this year is having ANOTHER returning big for 2018-2019. Keep in mind, Mayan Kiir is the only PF/C returning for the 2018-19 season...so having a guy like Bigby-Williams is not a bad thing to have at this point. That gives us an experienced big to return with Kiir, and puts less of a load trying to stock up on 4 bigs in 1 class.

Also, not like losing ER III for the season and replacing him with someone who cant play is much of a difference. ER III is a under 5 minute a game type of player who was generally awful in those few minutes.

Anybody that wants to bitch about this should just go to the Rant and join the baseball crybabies - Wade is making all the right moves to put a team together. Lemonade out of lemons, folks... & we'll need that big next year.

What T-Bird said.

Elbert gives you nothing. Particularly if you're going to play the Havoc style of ball Wade wants to play. Elbert is the last guy off the bench on a team like that.

This way you get a guy you can coach up for a year, who's an athletic practice player who can make Reath and Kiir and Epps better, and next year you'll have a senior 6-11 post player who was the former JUCO Player of the Year and has played on a Final Four team. He just needs more refinement of his offensive game and particularly to learn how to defend without fouling.

If he can make this happen, Wade will have really threaded the needle on turning the roster over.

Agree 100 percent.

Any word on when he's making a decision?

The timing of his visit, plus Elbert quitting seems suspicious.

Wade is already exceeding my expectations...and they were pretty high to begin with.

This year you install your system/culture and make some waves (NIT likely).

Then '18-19 you have a very good roster (Smart and Co. included) and make the Big Dance an annual destination.

Love me some Wade!

Robinson is too heavy, he'll always have leg problems. I'm sure he's not 300, probably well over 300 and that kind of weight puts pressure on those legs, a lot of stress, he'll have stress fractures in his legs. He should get down to around 275 to 280, but that'll never happen, he's lazy when it comes to working out. Dude has tremendous size that NBA scouts drool over, you can't teach size, he could have easily pulled down 8 figures if he wasn't so damn lazy.

Pretty impressive what Wade has done in a short time. Future of the program looks to be in good hands
