Can someone with knowledge explain how many players the schools can actually sign to LOI each year. Can some still be back counted? Is there a limit on grey shirts? I thought the number was 25 now but I see bama with 27 commits and the U has 31.

25 counted per class. It used to be 28. You can backcount with EE's if you didn't have a full class the previous year. You cannot go over 25 for any given class or 85 for the total roster

Also,

If you graduate 5 Seniors in December, the NCAA's replacement rule says you can have 5 EEs.

85 and 25 are the 2 magic numbers.

85 total.

25 per year.

those are commits not signee`s,come NSD they will have to disappoint somebody,or be told to wait for non qualifiers.Unless they signed 21 previous year 4 can be added provided that they are within 85 schollies by AUG.correct me if 1 am wrong,I dont claim to be an expert
