-Shea has always thought that Rickie Collins was going to end up in the class. Sloan has worked this relationship very well.

-Always thought that Rickie was in their back pocket. They have always been recruiting Rickie since the new staff took over.

-He plays in Baton Rouge and under a former LSU QB so enough said

-Add in Collins this would be the best QB room that LSU has ever had

-Jaiden to Notre Dame tomorrow. Been on campus his entire life and just wants/needs a change of scenery.

-Believes that Shelton has trended to LSU for some time now. FSU has a good relationship as well. If you're going to talk about locking down the state this is the guy that you have to get.

-What happens when you lose a LA WR to another school? They turn into Devonta Smith and have game winning catches and win Heisman trophies.

-LSU was always after Kylin Jackson. He will announce on Monday. You saw them get other safeties from out of state and then Ashton Stamps in state. They still hosted. Lots of schools have been in the mix. LSU pressed enough and he wants to shut it down before the season.

-Tyree Adams will come in and doesn't have any bad weight on him to shed.

-You know that Will Campbell is going to be on Zalance Heard being a Neville guy. LSU is going to try to get him to shut it down

-The staff is focusing on Louisiana right now. Kudos to the staff for understanding the climate.

-Ethan Fields is someone that a lot of coaches are monitoring. But LSU took Paul Mubenga. At this time not in a place to give out more offers. Not the case for just Fields but in general.

-Khai Prean is one that they think LSU will get him to pop before his senior year. LSU has the lead. trying to sell him on rounding out the WR room.

-Jordan Matthews is leaning to Texas. Not really sure what happened to LSU there. (We all know what happened there.)

-Believes that Weeks is underrated. He apparently killed it at Georgia's camp. Solid senior year could see him rise even more.

-LSU has a really great behind the scenes recruiting support staff. If you want to bring a kid for an official they have a plan in place.

-Nothing new on Derek Williams. Believes as time goes on you hope as LSU you win some games and get some in state recruits and he decides to stay home.

-Doesn't believe recruits care as much as fans as W/L. They look at it more like they can come in and contribute.

-You want to show them you're in the hunt for the SEC title and still being talked about nationally.

Thanks for posting the cliffs. Sounds like Shea’s info is what VOLTiger posted yesterday. It all works out in the end!

He was confused. Jordan Matthews is leaning to Texas. He was thinking of Jacoby Matthews.

This is something I think many fans don't understand. For the fans it is all about wins and losses. For the players, they look at college as the necessary next step to get to reach the ultimate goal, NFL riches. If they can get exposure at a big time program like LSU, great. But, in their mind, sitting on the bench for 2-3 years at a place like LSU while winning big may not be as important as being able to play early and often at another successful power conf. program. The pitch to recruits is not necessarily "if you come here we will win a lot of games". It's "if you come here YOU will PLAY for a team that wins a lot of games."

Even Louisiana kids aren't as inherently loyal to LSU as the fans think they would be. They still want to go to the place that is best for them, personally. Of course, NIL has thrown a huge wrench into this. If an 18 year old can get 6 figures from one school immediately vs less from the other, he very well may take the increased money...even if he really likes the other school more. You see it all the time in pro sports. A player may like another team more, but still ends up going to the team offering the most money because it is too good to pass up.

This feels super misleading. It’s like saying he’s probably gonna pick lsu but if he were to leave the state he’s be a stud?

So they don’t care as much about wins and losses, but you want to show them you’re in the hunt for titles? Checks out. Lol

I think he’s saying La. WRs are stars, so losing out on them hurts because they become stars at rivals instead of at LSU.

I don’t think he’s saying they can’t be developed here.

Exposure is key, playing early is a factor but when you are an NFL mill like LSU or bama you can get past that. Every recruit is told he is going to get early playing time at every school including LSU and bama. Often the get it, usually they wait a year or two.

The key should be not to get to NFL camp, or even NFL, we have x nfl guys at my gym rn, they played a year or two never got passed rookie contract have little if any money left. Big deal, nobody gives a shite, it’s just a story, they rarely ever tell it. It like me saying I was all district in 82 in high school and my brother and I both played in SEC for ole miss and LSU respectively. Cool huh, just a story, although he does have SEC championship ring.

Their goal needs to be and if they are smart must be to succeed in the NFL, that is something that LSU players are as good as anyone on the planet including bama. And that should be a big selling point .

LSU selling points:

We have put as many people in NFL last 10 years as anyone.

Our players don’t just make it to the NFL, they thrive

You will get huge exposure and play for championships

We will teach you everything you need to know and you will work hard but it will not be like bama a process with you being a cog in a machine, look it up bama is run by an organization actually called the machine, but a family atmosphere. We will treat you as a person. Saban will retire soon anyway.

Louisiana kids, your parents will get to see you every game, every week if you want

you will get to play early if you are good enough because so many of our players will go ti NFL their Junior and sophomore seasons

Ability to run track play baseball etc. We should always encourage this as some schools don’t allow it
