Rumors of huge medical bills from dad's stroke, that REC helped them with..Who knows what went down, there, but there's lots of speculation being thrown around...

If they actually did that, then good for them. People would call that "buying the recruit" but I really don't care. There are a lot worse things in the world than losing a recruit because someone offered to save his family thousands of dollars in medical expenses to play for another team

dude, that's why I said I'm not sure what more they can do. You're arguing with me by reinforcing my point? Is that it?

We do seem to not have the pulse on recruits like Bama does, but that really is not on the coaches themselves. That's an athletic department decision to spend more money to take the load off coaches from having to to the intel themselves.
theres ample evidence of this now. we don't quite have the pulse of many of these recruits (did not say "all"). By the way, that is one of the main functions of Bama's small army of non-coaches.

there is a group of alum/boosters trying to get something set up for Clark's Mom, within the rules, they can't even get a return email or phone call. That stuff makes a difference.

I was shocked myself when he announced Bama because it always seemed like Tony was serious about Track. Bama is nowhere near an elite Track program to prepare him for his goals of the Olympics. Dennis Shaver has coached multiple world class sprint athletes over the years at LSU. LSU just seemed to be the better fit; the close proximity to home and his sister running for the same program just seemed too good to pass up.

Oh well, hopefully, we can pull in Adoree. It's a long shot, but who knows!

I wouldn't be surprised to see her transfer.

Especially if she read how our wonderful "fans" showed her much "love" yesterday. I cannot put into words my thoughts on some of the inhabitants of LSU fandom. Those words have not been created yet so I'll just say @#&*$%!!!! If only there were an eject button.

then Saban can come in at the last minute in a matter of weeks and all the previous effort put into the recruit seems not to matter.
Les Miles has done the same thing in the past

hell he did it with Jamal Adams this year. Tashawn Bower last year.

When she said Roll Tide, I just knew it wasn't going to be good...I know they are a strong family, and I pray she is treated right, but know whats coming will be trying...

If anything it shows those five-star defense backs at Alabama are under performing and LSU defense of backs are over performing. Seems like the easiest path to the NFL is an LSU not Alabama.

I know what you are saying, but not the same thing because not to the same degree. Bower was worried about the dumpster fire that was Auburn and new coach and By a lot of accounts Adams was waiting for a push from us (no to mention help from Paris ).

On the other side all the connections to Brown - sis, Paris, long time LSU fan, relationship to track coach.... You see a lot there.

Brown was the biggest shock for me. But they were all stunners.

Is Brown going to come and unseat Robinson or White? Doubtful.

He's arguably the best DB prospect in the country. He doesn't want to be a nickel back at best for his first two years. Add to that Toliver is already in the fold for next year.

It actually does make sense a day after the fact. It's not possible to keep stockpiling elite talent at one position.

Well in the end, all we know is that he pretty much lied. He said he wanted to run track and play football, he said he wanted to be with his sister, he said he wanted to be a little closer to home, but yet he still picked Alabama so he was full of it. He just wanted to play for Saban the whole time and he knew it.

Or maybe that is what he felt at the time. People do change their minds you know. He chose what he thought was best for him. Not to hurt LSU or to deny its fans. Why would anyone be upset about that?

LSU just needs to keep coaching up TW and RR and do all that is necessary to keep Toliver. Make certain he never feels he is taken for granted. Treat him like he is the number 1 CB that he is who chose LSU long before many high profile recruits do. He should never have second thoughts about his commitment based on the coaching staff's actions or inaction.

LSU must figure out why we have lost so many high profile Louisiana recruits. Then correct the problem. It might be there was nothing the staff could have done. But leave no stone unturned in seeking an answer.

Well TB was an OOS recruit.

We've lost 4, CR, SN, HJ, and GW. But we've had a ton of talent numbers-wise this year. Speaking in terms of percentage our success rate is likely comparable to any other year.

It was probably never realistic to think we were going to get all of these guys. Players that are highly rated don't want to all of a sudden play second fiddle to someone. And pretty much all of them save for LF and CR will have to work their way up the ladder, whereas they can go elsewhere and be looked at as the #1 guys.
