In my eyes I would love the Scott addition. He should been offered months ago but we all know why he wasn't. I still don't buy our recruiting class needing saving.

LINK

It's an ok read

He's lying. He just doesn't like how quickly he got called out.

Most journalists don't write their own headlines. The people on the copy desk do.

But that headline does suck.

That's what I was thinking

Stockpiled with elite defensive talent

What needs to be saved?

that's his on air persona. A lot of sports talk guys are like that.

A lot of coaches, that are loved, are like that.

Works for some, other strategies work for others.

I worked in journalism for 6 years (and still freelance fairly often). Writers don't write headlines. It's often copy editors who honestly don't know much about sports but read through the article and find catch words or phrases

The top recruiting class in the country does not need to be "saved".
If it did, Scott would be an unlikely candidate for the role.

No need to "save" this class. IMO, Scott may be a gamer. If he gets an opportunity within the next few years he may finally be Les' dual threat QB. This kid can throw, pocket and on the run. He runs like a running back. Up the middle, speed to get to the edge. I think he could be a college RB if he desired. Strong arm and seems accurate. Plus they say he's a leader.

Moscona's article is a full-blown disgrace. First, I think that Scott should have been offered long ago, and has GREAT potential. Hope we get him. However, this is one of the BEST recruiting classes we have ever had, and for Moscona to sell the headline of "Save the Class," is ignorant and disrespects the tremendous collection of talent coming in with or without a QB. Bad job, Matt. This is junior varsity journalism.
