Some notes from the Under Armour game

Some notes on LSU guys, targets, and just some other guys in general.
- Starting with Cade York. Went 3-3 PAT’s, and 2-3 Field Goals. Hit a 39 yarder, actually stopped mid kick to avoid a block, then 1 step drills a 39 yarder right down the middle. Hits a 59 yarder that could have gone from about 62-63 it looked like. Under Armour game record, and just an impressive kick overall. He missed a 49 yarder to win the game. It happens and we will work on it. Can’t be hitting 50 yarders with consistency.
- Maurice Hampton. LSU verbal. Didn’t start. Did not hear Maurice Hampton’s name called once during game. He did play at CB, and had good coverage when out there though. Sometimes your name not being called is a good thing.
- Donte Starks. LSU signee. Didn’t start. Didn’t even see him out there. I’m sure he played, but his name wasn’t called.
- Devonta Lee. Undecided. Didn’t start. Didn’t even see him out there. Could have played, but name wasn’t called.
- Sopsher. Undecided. Didn’t start, but did notice him out there. His potential is there, conditioning needs to be worked on quite a bit.
- George Pickens. Auburn verbal. Started at WR. He’s an absolute animal. Had 4 catches I want to say. All went for first downs. His athletic ability is ridiculous, hurdled a man all together with his 4th catch. He’s a must get IMO.
- Will Reichard Bama Kicker cause why not. 4-4 PAT’s, but missed a 40 yarder right down the middle. Definitely have the better Kicker if you look at this game alone.
- Jerrion Ealy. Ole Miss RB verbal. Starting RB. He looked like the best player in the entire game. Was an absolute animal. I think he had about 120 yards and 2 touchdowns on limited carries, and against great competition.
- Noah Cain. Penn State RB signee. Was a silent over summer. Probably ends up in this class had we missed on Emery. Has a better burst than thought, and will be a very solid RB in college.
- Bo Nix. Auburn QB signee. He really struggled. Went like 4-14. Had 1 really good pass, but didn’t look like the strongest QB out there after getting major praise throughout the week.
- Arjei Henderson. WR. Didn’t hear his name called during game, but he’s highly ranked and committed to Florida during the game. Still could flip to FSU. Just posted him here, in case we play him in the future.
- Theo Wease. WR. OU signee. He looks like he may be the best WR in this class. Made some great grabs.
Keep in mind Emery didn’t play in this game. Recovering from injury. Would have been our highest ranked player in this game.
Looking forward to the Army game Saturday. More LSU guys in that one. No Stingley, he was with LSU practicing.
Just some notes on guys we have a chance with, signees, and some other guys we could face in the future.

How was Kardell? Practice reports were not favoring him. Apparently he was getting beat a lot in one on ones.
Eta: wrong all star game.

He’s at the Army All American Game. He plays his game Saturday. Some reports were bad, just saying he needs to shed some weight, but he moves well for his size. I saw some videos and he won the 1 on 1’s I saw including some against Alfano the Bama commit.

Wasn’t able to watch - thank you for the summary!

I think Weese is the best WR in country.
I like Pickens a lot too.

I'm waiting to see the Haselwood kid before deciding. Pickens may be the best upside guy though.
Crazy thing with Arjei Henderson. This was his 4th commitment I believe(2 to Oklahoma) and I would bet Mullen didn't even know it was coming. Guy will flip to Taggert before Feb. Every insider in the business had FSU in the last 3 days. We had a hat and I haven't heard his name since the spring as it pertains to us. Kids in 2019!
Kayvon Thibidaux looked elite as a pass rusher.

Weiss is a good one,but not sure he is best in the country. He dropped 2 passes in their state semifinal loss.

Plus he is lacking in technique. Olinemen blocking him were consistently getting their hips turned and shielding him from the play. He didn't read blocks well and wasn't getting through blocks to make plays, or even assist. This dude scares me. I mean, he's a beast physically, but you must have excellent technique to stop the run in college. I didn't see much technique and if he can't learn it he will not be successful in college. This dude is a very big risk especially for 2 scholarships.

If you can get one of the MS DL, then you have the leverage to only offer 1 scholarship.
