and probably the best QB in the conference. Tua has no issue with this, despite there being a good chance he would be a backup for three years.

Brennan balks at LSU merely OFFERING another QB.

Seems weak.

There are things happening behind the scenes we have no idea about. The obvious sign is kiffin coming to lsu.

It's alabama. Explain any of their off the charts recruiting over the last 7 years.

None of it makes sense.

I think the logical thing is that Tua is NOT cool with signing with a school with a freshman QB AND the OC that recruited him is gone.

He's been a solid commit, but Kiffin leaving would give him solid cover to decommit.

LSU's pitch to Tua is that he should come to LSU and play early. We're playing up the competition to get an advantage, and if Tua flips, you won't hear a peep from people on this board that he's scared of competition, but they'll say it about Brennan. That's dumb.

Also, Brennan has been committed here with another top QB for a while. Adding a 3rd to the mix guarantees that someone is going to bail.

Can someone educate me? When is EE? When does Kiffin's contract end? It's my understanding that the timelines CANNOT line up, but I don't know that for sure.

I'm 100 percent positive that TUA would not come here (because of Kiffin) on just the promise that Kiffin would probably be here..

I know it's some black helicopter shite but it seems much more likely that Saban is sabotaging this and manipulating Kiffin so that we could lose this recruit.

Nowhere in my post did I make an excuse or even mention O. This is about the motivations of teenagers.

I personally would not advise my son, if he were a top QB, to sign with a school with a freshman starter. It would obviously take exceptional performance, or injury, to beat him out.

Other recruits in your class are a different story. There will always be other recruits, but it's very difficult to unseat an entrenched starter.

Then why didn't he decommit months ago.. He's a few weeks from enrolling.. And lane isn't his primary recruiter. I don't see him flipping. Not a chance this close to him enrolling

By potentially losing a 3-4 star kid with terrible SEC offers? WTF is wrong with some of you today?

and exactly how long have you been on the "Brennan is a scrub" bus? 8 hours?

I'm not even saying he's going to LSU. I could just see him not going to Alabama, with Kiffin gone and Hurts having such a great freshman year.

It's just speculation. No one knows anything.

Never said he's a scrub but let's not act like we're losing him to tOSU, Bama, Clemson, FSU, etc. There has to be a reason why LSU is his biggest offer right?

I don't know. But if Kiffin is the factor, which it may or may not be, then I don't think that matters at this point.

Because he will redshirt, and sit a year

If Hurts keeps developing hell go early most likely.

He probably needs more than a year to go from Hawaii high school speed to SEC speed.

I don't believe Hurts is an NFL QB. Even if he is, he's not an early entry candidate.

Well that and probably the fact that the first OFFICIAL visit to a QB as HC of LSU Orgeron along with Craig and Raymond went to visit our 2 legged horse with 2 gimpy legs Lowell N. That probably didn't sit well with Brennan either, wouldn't you think?

So as you are probably aware Bama under Saban doesn't start freshman QB's and this year is without a doubt an anomaly. So Tua wasn't going to start in the first place if you look at history. So he was going to red-shirt. So he redshirts next year and if Hurts is as good as he has looked there is a good possibility he will only be there for 3 years and will leave his junior year. If that is the case and Tua redshirts next year he would probably only sit one year before being the starter as a redshirt sophomore. Meaning he is probably where he would have been no matter if Hurts is a freshman or not.
