Not an opinion, the coaches never had optimism in him from the start, but coach O is recruiting him and his family like hell regardless.
I've emphasized not to expect Ish in this class, but fans on here got their hopes up. I can't blame you due to how well our class is put together so far, but if you just paid attention to his visits throughout the regular season you could just tell this was inevitable.

I don't know how this class is going to finish though, and if anyone claims they do I would either be hesitant on believing them, or convinced its one of the coaches themselves. Its tight lipped right now, and nothing but rumours that debunk themselves after awhile.
Big weekend though

When Ish was the #1 DT in the country it was a perspective thing. LSU couldn't let that white whale go out of state while also claiming they were "locking down" the state. I fully admit to being a part of this as it helps shift the perception of the program to future recruits.

Now that Ish has dropped in the rankings some the perception isn't what it was before. He's no longer a white whale, he's just a good player from Louisiana that can be replaced.

There are some good options in the 2020 class. It's starting to show that Ishmael Sopsher is not the generational talent that he was believed to be.

I personally would rather Moore!! And have felt that way since the Rodney demands were made. And after his weak performance in the all america game and practices I felt that way strongly.

Since the final rankings push, Sopsher is rated lower than Lawrence was in 2016.

IMHO we get one of Moore, Young or Ish.

Chill. You know there are some out here very knowledgeable about recruiting who are 1/100th less worried that you and a few others. There are concerns but the odds favor we land at least one more DL who can project to DE.

And there is also GTs and JUCOs out there. Some of y'all completely forgot about that as well as some all of the sudden forgot about Ika. Debbie Downer syndrome does not make y'all cool and smart. More like a bunch of wusses and morons.

I agree that the 2020 class looks very promising for the DL. What worries me is that, if we miss on a blue chip DE in this 2019 class, which it appears we may, we're going to have to rely on true freshmen and possibly a transfer or two for quality DE depth in 2020. There is no getting around this...numbers don't lie.

If we miss on a great DE in this class, we'll have to hope and pray that both Logan and Farrell don't leave after next season and that one or both of Cotton and Jenkins are extremely legit. Even then, we'll be hurting for quality depth in 2020.

I do want to add the Roy, current DE commit in the 2020 class, looks like an absolute stud, and I do expect him to be able to add depth right away. Unless things go wrong in some way for him, I think he'll end up being one of the top DL in the 2020 class.

Meh...I'm pretty into it myself...have been for quite awhile. And I'm not seeing these odds you speak of for the 2019 DE's left on the board. In fact, it genuinely appears that we're about to rely on O to defy odds in order to land one of them. I won't be shocked at all if he does it, but it is surely not expected at this point.

And you'll have to point out these JUCO and transfers to me, because I'm not seeing them. In fact, it appears from the transfer portal that we've already missed on some DE's that could've filled the void for us in this class.

Ika's a NT, by the way...you should probably "chill" with all the morons talk.

We don't have the luxury of being able to choose or be picky. We need to get one of Ish, Moore, Young, Harrison-Hunte, Fuller, etc. to choose to come here in this class. It's not for next year. It's for 2020 DE depth.

Anyone know if either Fuller or Harrison-Hunte are going to visit here before NSD? Was hoping we'd enter into Sorrell's recruitment, too.
