Harvard- HA... next
Anyone who laughs at this offer is clearly mentally ill or mentally retarded. If one goes to Harvard, they would get basically the same education they could get from any college in the country. However, if one goes to Harvard, you are exposed to elite networking that carries over into the futures of your children. Unless JR really thinks he going to be a top 10 pick in the NFL, I wouldn't consider another team on the list.

Honestly, does anyone read past the original post before replying?

And you'd be paying for it because they dont offer scholarships
1. They don't offer FULL Scholarships, so you arent paying for all of it.
2. Paid Harvard education >>>>>>>>> Free LSU education

I'm aware. That wouldn't stop me from attending Harvard if I were to receive financial aid and scholarships/grants that would cover the cost, i.e a full-ride, though.

Yes....how many HS kids get an offer from Harvard. Play ball and get the degree.

He isnt going to Harvard

I did, but can I put my own 2 cents in on a message board and have my own damn opinion?
Posted on 3/2/17 at 12:41 pm to Guidge
So you would take on a quarter of a million in debt vs a free education? Honest question.

Maybe if Scholarships and Grants covered the majority of the cost, but financial aid will be paid back with 6.5% interest.

To everyone re: Harvard
Yes, a FB player can get what = a full ride at Harvard if his parents are in dire financial straights.
The FB player must have really good test scores. But not the ACT required of a non FB star (regular applicants with a 36 get rejected by Harvard).
Being a QB at Harvard means you have Zero shot at the NFL. And if Rogers is in the lowest 1% academically at Harvard he is not going to make as much money in a profession attributed to his degree as he would make in 3 or 4 years in the NFL.
I'm in Bossier but I don't know the details on Rogers. If he scored a 29 or higher on his ACT and is not NFL material then he should go to Harvard.
If he scored a 25 or below and has NFL potential he should go to LSU.

Not statistically true. Ryan Fitzpatrick went to Harvard.

There's a QB from Harvard in the league right now jackass

Swing and a miss.
And to those thinking that Rogers would pay for going to Harvard, I guarantee if he really wanted to go there, the coach would make sure the numbers worked. There are tons of different scholarship opportunities if he wanted to go that route. Just because they don't offer "athletic scholarships" doesn't mean athletes don't get some special access to scholarship money.

Hes is NOT gonna go to Harvard. Waste of time talking about it. I don't think he is gonna choose LSU either.

It's hard for someone who went to LSU-E or LSU-S to conceptualize what going to an Ivy League school means. It opens doors that can't be opened anywhere else. Ivy League schools are all in the top 15 schools in the *world*. These schools give people the opportunity for networking that can launch someone into the upper socioeconomic class in terms of career.

The Ivies have incredibly generous financial aid packages. Basically, if you're not an OT Baller you don't pay anywhere near full tuition. And if you're middle to lower middle class you pay very little.
That said, it's not for everyone. It's a demanding academic experience. But players do make it to the NFL from the Ivy Leagme, including from Harvard.

All this talk about Harvard is, er ...academic.
There is no suggestion Rogers has been or could be accepted for admission into that school.
This sounds like talk about a certain other QB recruit with the same lack of foundation.

Does anyone know if Rogers and Marshall will be staying put at Parkway or leaving to IMG or Evangel lol..
Just joking on Evangel.
If they are staying, who will be the head coach?
Whoever takes that job is getting a team that should be a top 3 team in 5-A next year with those two alone.

What are you talking about? Why would they offer him and then keep him out of admissions? It's a private school, they allow anyone they want. If the right person makes it happen, pretty much anyone can get into Harvard.
