Louisiana waves of talent can be infuriating. Two years ago, we put out like 6 wings, no posts or point guards. Next year, our top 3 players will be PF: Martin, Jones and Bridgewater.

I know there is some variation to their game, such as Jones can play the 5 and Martin can play the 3, but I hope it doesn't come down to none of them wanting to go to the same school. They all play on different AAU teams, which is not a good sign.

Johnny will be the force that unites them and makes them one. One mind. One heart. One TEAM.

Yeah, LSU could save a lot of scouting and recruiting money if they would just let GoTygers check the offer lists and tell them who to recruit. Either him or DandyDon.

The guys we have I am excited about. I'm just saying you are going to be asking some SFs to play in the post if we don't get another big body. I'd like to see us get someone that can at least guard SEC centers and rebound. Our size is the only thing that makes me nervous when I look at our line up, TJ kind of screwed us here.

Jones is planning on playing a different style of ball. up and down the floor. You can get away with being undersized with that style. Loyal m, back in the day, wasn't big. Heck, Marquette and butler haven't been big.

size comes into play more in half court b.b. the bigs usually can't run up and down the floor consistantly.

Mizzou was pretty small this year as well. I know you can get away with not much size with the up tempo offense, but what usually happens is the teams that do beat you win because of size. That is why I am saying I'd be happy with a big that can just run the floor, rebound, and play D. Especially when you are turning a half court offense into an uptempo one. There is a possibility that will be painful next year in the transition.

Well obviously everyone would love a big like Anthony Davis, but unfortunately they are very rare. And for now would have no interest coming here.

i agree, however, it's baby steps. we have to start winning first. If we can win and be undersized, great. once we start winning, we have a chance at getting bigs that can play.

right now, just getting a big to have a big doesn't really do you any good. you have to have a big that can play.

I'd rather him stock up on athletes that can play, send waves of them at teams to get them worn down, and win at this stage.

i'd love to have a some bigs that can play. just don't think we are there as a program to attract them right now. they are rare.

I also remember the Illinois teams when they were in their heyday- I don't think they had anyone in the roster over 6'8, and they really went something like 6'6, 6'7 for their forwards. Played 3G and 2F and gave everyone fits. If my memory serves me correctly, they won a national championship with that sort of lineup, so I will wait to see our team play before I start bemoaning our lack of a 6'10-7'0 true 5.

I would take a 6-9 athlete (Tyrus, Stromile) over a big 7-footer any day. You don't need a big 7-footer in college. They are rare and hardly anyone has them.

I'm not asking for a 7 footer. But we do need like a 6'10 guy or some long 6'9 guys like Both Tyrus and Stromile were.
