Just reading through some of the threads, there’s indications of last minute deals and counters for these kids.

I don’t know the figures of any of these deals but it makes it more interesting that there can be legal channels for bidding wars on high school kids. It’s sad because it used to be kids chose that school… because they really wanted to play there, not for just money.

It just blows my mind that these kids are hyping the market into 6 figure deals, maybe more, based on dominating in HS. These kids haven’t even seen SEC competition yet and are demanding money that some people may not make in 5 years.

Wild set of circumstances we find ourselves in.

It's sad that these 17 year old kids have these fully grown men crawling on their hands and knees and begging. What a soul crushing job recruiting must be.

What are these boosters getting out of paying 30mil for a recruiting class? Just to be able to swing their dick when they win a natty?

Weird

Market forces.

Supply and demand.

It will work itself out. It may take 2-3 years, but the minute these contracts are void bc kids aren’t getting playing time, they’ll see and understand the ugly side of these recruiting tactics. 100k a year is nice, but is it ultimately worth risking your exposure to the NFL and risking millions. It boils down to bad advice. 5 star athletes will never see the filed at Alabama, in this case, A&M.

I really hate this crap. I’m all for kids making more money for playing college football, but expecting local boosters and businesses who just arranged to pay off old coaches, to get new coaches, and then now they have to dig deeper to pay these unproven kids hundreds of thousands of dollars?

This is seriously ruining college football. I know some of this already went on behind the scenes, but now it’s given everyone a license to just get insane with it.
