So fricking what. LSU doesn't owe those coaches anything. It's sad and pathetic they hold grudges because LSU didn't recruit their kid.

Which lesser known NOLA kids did we take over lesser known North LA kids?

Let's use Carter as an example. He didn't get on the bus when it's time. If he loses a spot, who's fault is that?

i know a lot of people got upset last summer because LSU didn't offer first and he committed to Bama before coming to camp at LSU, but lest we forget, he was just ending his Sophomore year and blew up at summer camps. He went to Bama camp first, so they offered, he went to UGA camp and tore it up and they offered.

I don't see why he felt the need to commit so early since he was blowing up all summer and rising up the charts unless he just wants to go to Bama or they pressured him to commit before going to LSU's camp.

no one said they did. My only expectation for HS coaches is they look out for the best interest of their kids. That may mean a kids doesn't go to LSU, but holding a grudge is putting yourself above the kids. Now if a school yanked a kids scholarship a few days before NSD because a higher ranked kid wanted in, then that's one thing, but because they didn't offer some other kid in the past, that's just being petty.

I love that we have changed for the better with these coaching changes. We are acting like we should be.

But damn, what the hell were "3rd and Chavis" and "Sitting on a Brick", actually getting paid to do? This has me so steamed. I want Brick to "pursue what he wants" outside the LSU football program.

Let's back up two steps.

quote:

Sometimes your best friend in recruiting is a happy high school football coach that you took a chance on his 3* WR insteaad of the 3* kid from nola. LSU made lot of enemies in some choices it made recruiting lesser known kids from nola instead of taking a chance on lesser knowns from north LA. Beleive it or not. There is a geographical bias in this state. I think this is less prevelant than people tthink, but it exists.
This statement says that North LA HS coaches are pissed off because New Orleans 3* were offered instead of North LA 3*.

It's not your statement, but you seem to want to defend it. Please attempt to defend it because it makes no sense to me.

If anyone else wants to explain it or provide more background, give it your best shot.

lets not get to arrogant here. you can't have first come, first serve with 5* players. in reality, they are in charge at this point. they can go almost anywhere. this applies to a lot of 4* players also. see mullens, fulton etc.

He's talking about DBs dude. Guys like Ladler, Broussard, Greedy, Mullen and Fulton (high ranked CBs), and safeties like Monroe, Anderson, Carter, man we are top 2-3 for all these guys and it really is first come first serve. Not to forget Cameron Lewis who I believe they should push hard for.

Ladler is IMG if I recall.
If he wants in then he's in.

I wonder how high we still are on Josh Perry and if we flip Carter, does that take away his buddy Perry's safety spot.

Or if Perry can bulk up and potentially be a LB take.

I saw the last post that I replied to, which I can understand after being part of a staff that has had a few kids recruited lately. I got nothing on a bias between north and south La, other than the fact that the north part of the state hasn't been as much of a priority than the Nola and BR areas.
