With me having practically zero recruiting knowledge, do players silent commit to multiple schools?
I feel like this would happen a lot, otherwise it wouldn't be silent. Again, I don't know much.

There have been some rumors that players have told LSU and other schools they were gonna commit and then chose one. Some names that come to mind are Andre Debose and Tony Brown, but these are just tumors. You never know with a silent commit. I would never put much stock in silent commits or even verbal commits if the player is still visiting other schools.

Sometimes they just ask coaches and writers not to announce it so they can announce it themselves at a specific time, such as a all star game or after a particular game, etc.

Smith is already slated to make his decision during the AA game on TV. I wouldn't freak out about the term "silent commit"
