What next?! Now Scout.com thinks Brennan is the QB in the south that has what it takes to start at sometime in his freshman year. Silly Boys.! dont they know they are all wrong in their evaluation of Brennan. Dont they know he is too skinny, he is too slow, he plays only trash defenses, he doesn't have enough experience, his release needs work, he doesnt look off defenders and his foot work is atrocious. And he doesn't play in the "Boot". What's wrong with them.

No. You are reaching on that one. I don't think he starts Freshman year by any means because you're right he does play trash defenses but his footwork, mechanics are very good.

Damn everyone's sarcasm meter is broken.

Scout needs to give him a freakin bump in the rankings, top 5 pro QB for sure.
Is he excited about the Bama game? The atmosphere will be unbelievable.

Yes, he was telling media today after practice that he was very excited to see the Tigers beat Bama and that he will be spending the whole weekend in BR.

He's very good but you can't just say he's going to play his freshman year. He's not even an early enrollee. He'd have to learn a lot in a very short time and he'd have to gain some weight in the summer. The jump from playing high school QB to college is significant and while very few players are good enough to play as true freshman most are not and require a red shirt. There's no telling where he'll be at next August. So just keep.your expectations low to avoid disappointment if he's not playing. Its not impossible but very improbable.

He's not nor should he start his freahman year. These kids need time to gain real confidence, get used to the speed, gain weight, know their playbook and many other things. Let the guy come in and take his time getting into the starting roll. Fact is that we won't need him right away and that hasn't been the case for a long darn time. I'm actually very much happy that we won't need a freshman QB. Let him RS and play him when he's really ready, RS freshman or sophomore year no need to rush things at all. Etling will most likely start again next year. We'll see what happens after that.

Congrats, very well put. This is probably the most objective and realistic analysis on an incoming freshman that has been posted in quite a while. You address the issue objectively from many different aspects that have little to do with a players talent level. Nor did you comment on whether or not a player is good enough to play as a freshman. You make it to do with situational development of a young man that is going into an environment that is foreign to every incoming freshman. Like you said "There's no reason to rush things".

RS would be his best option next year assuming Etling doesn't get hurt

He needs to add about 20 pounds to frame, get up around 200/210 to take the sec pounding you will get.

For some reason, I got a feeling if the next coach is Jimbo or Herman, they're gonna go with Narcisse, especially with him as an EE having a whole spring ahead of Brennan.

Plus, those coaches have history with multiple thick-framed mobile strong-arm QB's.

Narcisse arguably has a stronger arm, more mobility and a thicker frame than Brennan does.

The jump from 4A football to SEC Football is huge. 4A is the 2nd weakest football division in Mississippi football. May have 4 good teams in the whole state. If he played 3,5 or 6 he would face a lot better teams and players

Crazy thing about Bentley is he should be a senior in HS right now, he reclassified to graduate early.
