.... the show with the story on the Samoa kids playing American
football was Sunday's "60 Minutes" on CBS. The story was incredibly revealing about a lot of things. The Samoa kids all from working class farming and canning factory families. Schools got no weight training facilities, no decent playing fields, etc etc...What the kids DO have is humble fantastic attitudes, discipline, focus, and work ethic, based on family traditions and expectations. Not to mention unbelievable natural ability and size. A beautiful people.
.. they "get it". Inspirational story.

Is ex-LSU current Titan Kevin Mawae a Somoan? He's got the look and the vowels in his name. I think he came to LSU from a northwest state. He may be one of the 30 NFL players counted in the 60 minutes special last night.

Don't know his ancestry, but he was a military family from Leesville.

I watched it and I was thinking that maybe LSU could send some of there older helmets and pads to these kids. It would be a nice gesture and would not hert recruiting some of these kids. I was wondering how hard it would be to get them academically eligible.
