You've probably been waiting to pull that gif out.

Right after the throw you can see W. crack a quick smile

Blacknall is a must, and as CP3 said getting Quille would soften the blow, but for only one year.

good point. I was forgetting we would only get Quill for one year. I didn't mean I didnt' want him because I do really want him

As an LSU player that is.

So if he is worried about the depth chart he should probably just stay in NJ and go to Rutgers.

good one

In all honesty, I have and will always be on the Blacknall bandwagon..I really like what he brings to the table....protypical outside receiver with a great frame, good speed, and ability to go up and get the ball. I hope he doesn't get scared away due to the competition bc I really want him in this class.

this

Why would this be coming up all of a sudden. We might be taking what he said to serious. He knew all along we were taking those receivers.

True but to see them all in person and dominating at the camp the way they did (Dupre, Quinn, and Noil) may have made him have second thoughts about it. It's one thing to see the film and hear about other WR's in your class but to see them in person is different. I hope this is not the case though bc I really want him in the class.

Whatever. I bet he commits as planned anyway. If he's coming off a visit to Bama and still has LSU as the leader that good for us IMO

Riiiiight

Same as well Cousin. He is really smooth on the field and is a "hand catcher". Count me in on the Saeed Bandwagon!

Also, by the time Blacknall is on campus we would have lost Wright and Boone and possibly Beckham, Leslie and Landry. That would leave us with Avery, Spears, Fobbs, Diarse, Williams and Dural. Assuming we get Noil, Quinn and Dupree along with Upcurch (probably to big to play WR) and Chark(DB) that depth chart is nothing.

Not only that, but the next year LSU would lose Fobbs (sr), Armand Williams (sr), and Quille (Bad arse MOFO). There's a depth concern here and taking 6 guys this class is smart. Especially with Upchurch possibly moving to TE and Chark on the other side of the ball.

Very true. We lose a lot quickly. He needs to realize that it's not THAT thick of a depth chart. I really would like to get all of these WRs. Such a strong class.

Probably not going to play.

Fobbs

Doubtful too. Both might transfer out if they want playing time.

So after this year our receiver depth chart will be thin, even if both Fobbs and A.Williams return

Anyone saying LSU doesn't need or it doesn't matter if they lose a WR like Blacknall is delusional. Especially with the amount of WRs LSU is losing in the next two years.

This... Potentially 5 WR's after this year alone.

And their are no guarantees that any of the WRs will turn out to be great. I now think the quote was pure deflection on his part to create suspense. Him being afraid of depth that doesn't exist is ridiculous.

But now I'm scared of the WR depth for the next few years.

This may sound stupid but he also could feel like he didn't belong being that he is the only one not from Louisiana. The "Big 3" already have a personal relationship with each other and he might have felt like he was the lone wolf.

Or

He may just be trolling the shite out of us and will be announcing LSU soon and very soon.

We've got Bower from New Jersey along with Ego Ferguson, Gilmore and Neal all from the same area. Heck even Avery Peterson spent some time in Virginia at Hargrave. So he shouldn't feel alone.

Yeah but isn't there a bunch of Louisiana talent for WR next year?

Plus the TE from Barbe. I'm blacking out on his name

True. I had looked at the depth chart a while back and could see why LSU was going after so many WRs, aside from having so many great in-state players. And like you said, none of these guys are guaranteed to be great. The one who has the best shot is Quile, who is a rental. But boy it will be fun driving that rental for a while.
