He may get an offer depending on who ends up being the HC.

Listen, I'm already surprised LSU hasn't offered this kid. This is LA talent and you do not mess around with LA talent. I know they want this Akers kid, but shite this kid could turn out to be better. I don't get it. What are they not seeing in this kid?? I look at his film and see a powerfully built kid in HS that will probably put on another 10 to 20 pounds once in college. He is fast as hell with good shiftiness and quick feet. All the intangibles that a successful RB needs.

Why do you believe it is a violation?

I don't understand the no offer for Etienne either. Yeah, Cam Akers yeah, but he has too many heavy suitors and is not a Louisiana boy, so we don't have a loyalty angle. Etienne is a beast so we aren't losing out much if at all.

I agree. Appears some are confusing rules which prohibit schools hosting recruits during away games.

Just because the coach is in town for his team's game does not preclude contacting a recruit away from the stadium. Assuming there is no violation by meeting the recruit at the hotel then there is no violation.

It's not because they don't value his talent, it's because we already have his style of back committed... You know other OTHER Louisiana RB aka Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Not the same style of back.

So you pass on Bo Jackson because he's the same style of back as Herschel Walker? That's not good logic. Imagine two Kevin Faulk types or two Leonard Fournette types (speed and power included).

So you would rather give a scholarship to have two backs with similar talents over a position of need like linebacker or O-lineman?

It's a numbers game and filling a position of need at this point.

It's a NCAA "quiet" period right now. Saban wouldn't be allowed to meet him at his HS, not sure how that translates to a neutral site like the hotel.

That was not the point bought up in the tread. The point was Etienne having a similar back to himself in LSU's class. Either way the logic fails, they only have one rb committed to give a kid from another state the Fournette recruiting treatment would be foolish. Etienne deserves an offer.

Spiderman knows what he is talking about. Etienne is the best running back in the state and its laughable that Les took Edwards before seeing Etienne in person this summer. Saban is drooling over Etienne,I could go into stories but don't feel like hearing yall say "show me pictures or it didn't happen ". This kid might not be as good as Akers but I can't say that about any other running back beside the California athlete.

No, that is the point. We are taking two RBs, want one of each style. YOU want both because "they are from Louisiana".

Sure Louisiana kids should be given preferencial treatment, but the idea is to get the best players regardless of where they are from.

Then it would be a violation, but seriously doubt Saban was involved in this and the story is probably false.

Why is this a dead period and ho wlong does it last?

Yeah, if Saban "sent a car to pick Travis up and bring him" anywhere, that is a violation. Only exception is on an official visit.

Also, it is actually a quiet period right now, so any in-person off-campus contact would also be a violation.

In other words, BS.

Just like it was BS when I posted that Travis had decommitted from A&M a month before it was officially announced? If I post about this kid, it's a fact.
