I think O.J. Howard is the real deal and appropriately rated. Of course I could be wrong.

I saw him play in some 7 on 7's this past summer. He caught an out route like a Wide receiver and then took it to the house. when he turned on the jets he left the poor Cornerback like he wasn't even there. Extreme body control and exceptional speed. I think he will be special at Alabama. I don't look forward to our guys matching up with him.

Excuses for not going undefeated every year. They play in the weakest Division of the BCS conferences (none of their opponents are ranked) and a weak out-of-conference schedule. When you play 10-11 tune up games every year and have more 5* and 4* players than anyone in the country, you have no excuse for losing ANY games.

Excuses for what Trojans are truly the best at doing, underachieving -- if you exclude unearned/undeserved bragging.

I think what he's getting at is their competition isn't the strongest this season, and cited their inter-divisional comp. and their ooc explicitly.

The initial argument was USC's strength of competition in their division, not the overall strength of the division. I haven't formed an opinion either way, I just noticed that what was initially said might have been miscontrued.
And my point was that you can't validly compare USC's division without USC to another whole division including its best team. For example, Virginia Tech plays each team in its division, too, so you'd have to remove them from the equation in comparing their competition in the ACC Coastal to USC's competition in the Pac 12 South.

Of course, which is why their (USCw) competition was being brought into question not the division in it's entirety. Without agreeing, I do think there is some merit to question it.

Noel Ellis · Tulane University
Shout out to "TEAM HAWKINS"who actually knows how competitive it is to compete at the big three (Rivals, Opening, Gridiron Kings)... Our kids were at all three and competed at a high level.. To have a kid who not only didn't compete, but wasn't even invited jump both them and several other kids that were at the big three is just REDICULOUS!!! This only confirms that the system is a complete JOKE!!!

Noel Ellis, you are the complete joke. Your jealousy and disrespect are only going to hurt your son in the future. Knocking down others who have worked hard to achieve success just makes you look pathetic.

Except they can't play themselves, so they don't count when we're talking about their competition

Interesting that we don't apply that standard to teams in the SEC. 1 of the teams in the BCS CG last year only beat 2 SEC teams with a winning record and 1 of those 2 was 7-5. But hey its brutal week in and week out in the SEC .
