The class coming in now is going to be ranked #1 a couple of times over the next few years. Look at Texas to see what all those starts get ya with a coach who can't herd cats

Alabama is also only ahead of LSU at this pint because they have 2 more signees than LSU. With hopefully LC and another good target or two to land, we should finish right behind Texas or possibly even number one.

Can someone who follows recruiting more than I do, explain the reasoning why ESPN is so far off form the others?

It's simple. ESPN hates LSU...

but I really don't know why...

They rarely update anything.

They don't have the personnel to evaluate the incoming kids, other than the big names.

They don't have personnel in the smaller markets; i.e. Louisiana, Mississippi

It's my opinion that ESPN has spread itself too thin and needs to stay out of the recruiting market unless they are willing to put the resources into that are needed. Either that, or buy out scout or rivals.

Hell, just look at the sites they list as theirs:

OU, UF, UGA, UT, USC, and Mich

You think they may play into those fan bases some?

As long as we win and locals think well of our classes, we could be ranked 116 by ESPN and I wouldn't care less.

This can't be true. Astonvilla said Les was getting owned on the trail by the Mighty Midget.

u need to understand that bama is going to get more commitments, thus improving their ranking also. They could close out with a couple more 5 stars not including LC.

Landon Collins, Jeremy Hill (and Bourque doesn't decommit because of this) and..........Mario Edwards, FTW.

Can’t explain it, the ESPN recruiting information has been poor for years. They are usually misinformed and have out dated information. They are one of the worst at covering recruiting.

The amount of commits only matter on Rivals in the average * rating . The rivals formula only gives points for the top 20 commits according to point value. The lower commits are basically not counted in the team rankings aside from their contribution to the average * rating.
