Question asked: Which prospect claiming he is solidly committed do you have the most doubts? Josh Helmholdt: "I'm going to steal an observation my colleague Brian Perroni made in the aftermath of the Under Armour All-America Game about mothers usually winning out. I'm not believing Landon Collins will sign anywhere other than LSU until I actually see it happen. The Tigers are better than any team in the country at locking down their own state, and with mom and Les Miles both pushing for the five-star safety to stay home, I think there is a decent chance it happens on National Signing Day."

That'd be some shite, huh? Doubt it though, and am not sure how I feel about it. He's talked himself to a point of little return. We got Thompson now, and that'll more than suffice for me. I wouldn't complain to have both though.

Yea does he think itll be a bigger shocker if he signs with Bama, who is already committed to and has reassured people hes going there, than if he signs with us?

I will be happy if it happens. But I very (x1,000,000,000) much doubt that it will.

The backlash he took when he committed to Bama...he'd go there just to stick it to his mom and the state at this point. After everything he's said, he's pot committed to go to Bama. I wish people would give up on him coming here

Not necessarily. Sandolph is our other safety committed but ppl have been saying he won't qualify.
I doubt LC switches but we would have room if the sandolph rumors are true.

His mom released a statement this evening saying she would sign off on his LOI to Alabama. It's over.

I don't think Miles would have spent so much energy in the recruitment of Thompson this late on if he thought there was any chance. However, unless LC has had his offer revoked, I presume he can fax in his LOI to LSU if he so chooses.

I think the staff finally got tired of all the drama, and went out and found a player who is almost as good on paper. Thompson's recruitment is more than just him, it reinforces the footprint in Texas.

As beast as LC is, maybe he began to look at who's coming to Bama at 2013 and maybe it won't be so easy there as it would have at LSU with the departure of Reid, as per a need. He had his big day, and now the shine is off a bit and reality is setting in.

At this point, as good as he is, this is a flip we don't need anymore with CT here. No one player is ever bigger than the school.

Thanks for that tidbit. I think most won't even think about him much more. If he wants to be at Bama, I think it's fine with our fan base, especially with us getting Thompson.

I think his mom finally realized she has no say in her own family anymore.

There is no way he comes to LSU. Hell just yesterday we had 2013 commit Brazil decommit becasue Collins "openned his eyes" to some things. That right there tells you he isn't in favor of LSU.

He wants Bama. He is committed to Bama. He will go and play for Bama. He will hopefully go 0-4 against LSU.
