IYO, where would recruits that LSU missed out on recently be on the depth chart going into 2012?

Lache Seastrunk
Trovon Reed
Greg Robinson
Eddie Lacy
Kenny Bell
Bradley Sylve
Lache Seastrunk

Also, the top couple of recruits that LSU "whiffed" on, how much playing time and where on the depth chart do you feel they would be starting in the fall?

Feel free to add anyone else LSU may have missed on and feel like they were going to land them at one point.

Seastrunk - Getting the Gore treatment

Reed - On the bench, possibly see time in blowouts

Robinson - 2nd team guard

Lacy - Mixed in with that committee

Bell - Next to Reed

Sylve - See Bell

Seastrunk - See earlier Seastrunk

-Seastrunk would be buried. He just doesn't fit the physicality that LSU likes at RB. Maybe moved to WR or transferred.
-Trovon Reed and Kenny Bell would likely be battling it out for the #3 WR spot with James Wright. Bell might have a hold on #3 WR spot due to experience at this point.
-Eddie Lacy would be right in the mix with all our other guys at RB. Still think our best combo is Hilliard & Blue.
-Sylve still developing just like he is at Bama. Wouldn't be a factor at this point.
-Greg Robison, probably running at #2 LT behind Faulk (assuming La'el Collins is still practicing at guard to get him on the field).

In other words, I don't believe that any of those guys would have had major impacts at LSU at this point.

Out of that list it seems like Lacy would be the only one getting regular PT.

Lache hasn't done much so far and the others have only really been in a season. I think this question would be better asked after this upcoming season. As much as I don't like Robinson, I'm getting the feeling he's going to have success at Auburn.

-Lache would be in a Russell Shep situation. "Man his highlights were amazing, but we just cant find a place for him."

-Trovon Reed probably would be where Odell is now. Odell would have taken a redshirt.

-Greg Robinson would be a backup tackle with La'el getting the first crack at any open tackle spot. He would be like Jonah Austin.

-Eddie Lacy would be our starting RB instead of Ware. If we would have signed Lacy we would not have Ware. By starting I mean first to take the field but the normal RB roatation would still be in play.

-Kenny Bell would be starting along side Odell and Landry.

-Sylve would be right where Jarret Fobbs is.

Lache Seastrunk - Probably right in front of Magee, but still behind Ware, Hilliard and Ford.

Greg Robinson - Probably would have redshirted and be the back up right guard.

Eddie Lacy - Behind Ware, but in front of Ford. Probably where Hilliard is now with Hillard redshirting last year because we had Lacy.

Kenny Bell & Bradley Sylve & Trovon Reed - These are tough ones because they would probably all be in the same position as Wright/Boone/Fobbs. But if they were good enough, they may be challenging Shep for that third WR position.

Lacy is the only one that would be in the mix here, and he'd still just be another back in our rotation.

Kenny Bell might be on the field...

Not a freaking chance. Just because Reed would've been here longer doesn't mean he would be ahead of him on the depth chart. Odell is special.

Yeah there would be a chance..Comming out of high school he was just as good. Plus being here earlier would have gotten him on the field. Im more than happy that Odell has shined and we do not have to have this problem. I agree Odell is special, hell he is the best we have, but IMO Reed would be in Odells role from last year.

Yes, you're right. But again, that doesn't mean anything as regards to the amount of playing time he would have gotten. Odell showed up as a freshman and was second on the team in receptions and yards. Reed, in his second year mind you, was 4th in recptions and sixth in yards. Both offenses had right around the same total of passing yards.

All because someone is rated highly out of HS doesn't mean they will continue to shine. Odell has proven to be the better player....... THUS FAR.

With the thread being a "what if" it's all just opinion. I was basing my assessment from watching both guys play in person before college. I really have no idea what Reed has done at Auburn and I'm extremely excited about how far along Odell has gotten. But with regards to "what if" I think if Reed was with this program he would have been great. All IMO of course.

Seastrunk - he would have a tough go here; we have so many good young RBs plus Les likes the big powerful back who plows up the middle (Scott, Hester, Ridley, Ware, Hilliard) over the shifty back; I could see us bringing him in on a few situations for a gimmick play that would be clear to everyone on the field as well as the stands.

Reed - he lacks toughness and has trouble staying healthy, two things that would hurt him greatly under Miles; he would not be above Landry & Beckham and I doubt he would be above Wright and Shep; he has speed and provides a deep threat but we did not throw the ball downfield with JJ the past two years so he would have no role there; he would be 3rd at XWR behind Landry and Wright and rarely see the field.

Robinson - I could see him being the backup to Hurst at RT this year with a chance to be the starter next year.

Lacy - Ford/Blue/Keiland type of player; the RB field is so competitive it is hard to say; it would depend on how he performed in practice, whether he held on to the ball, etc; I could see him being in the mix with Ford and Blue behind Ware and Hilliard.

Bell - He would be 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart at YWR behind Shep and maybe Fobbs. He lacks physicalness, something that Les likes in WRs; he has speed and is a deep threat but again there would be no role for him the last two years; this year maybe; it is exciting to think about him burning a go route deep downfield and look up for one of those bombs that Mett throws; he would have a chance next year as a senior to play that role if we end up doing that sort of thing.

Sylve - Trovon Reed 2.0; redshirt last year; his lack of physicalness and struggle to stay healthy would not ingratiate him to Miles; speed and a deep threat, no role for him last year; he would have a chance to compete for this year but I really don't see him moving above any of our WRs.

LC - He would play this year and would start next year.

Torshiro - Redshirt this year and be in the mix next year; depending on how he competed, he could end up being the starter; at least a backup who would see plenty of time.

I'm sorry, but there is NFW.

Reed has been hobbled ever since he got to college. Les would not wait for him. Plus, Les loved Beckham the first day he set foot on the practice field. Even if Reed did get some playing time, it would not be consistently productive given his difficulty to stay healthy and lack of opportunities to make his mark given our QB that year. Beckham would have passed him last year.

Trovon Reed - Would be KR/PR and battling our No. 2 WR for reps.
Greg Robinson - Would be in the second rotation at G. I don't think he is a T. Definitely not LT.
Eddie Lacy - Would be in the top 5 of the rotation sharing equal reps with Blue, Ford, and Hilliard. Ware at No. 1.
Kenny Bell - Would be battling with Shep for reps at No. 3.
Bradley Sylve - RS. Probably would be our Fobbs or John Williams later.
Lache Seastrunk - Would have transferred with our depth.

ETA:

I see someone added Collins and Davis.

Attention Whore LC - frick him.
Master Manipulator TD - frick him.

Props to the guys who man up and don't play stupid games.
